South Beach vs Beverly Beach

We have camped at both Beverly Beach, and South Beach. I actually prefer Beverly Beach because of the nice wooded areas and the walk to the beach isn't very far... however, I have only camped at both in off seasons. If you haven't been to either one... they are both nice. Be sure and "take in" the lighthouses along the way if you are driving along the coast! Here are a couple of photos from both South Beach and Beverly Beach.

Oh such difficult decisions!

Have fun! Enjoy the Oregon Coast! Mid September should be nice, but you could have rain... (actually we'd love to see some!)

Ecola State Park is worth a visit as well, love that place. We were there back in March.

Any issues towing a 25 or larger along the entire OR coast? Curious on choke points, etc. that would make a 25 too long. Thanks.

No, you can easily navigate the entirety of Hwy 101 in a 25'-30' Airstream. It's curvy and slow in spots, but very doable.

Most of the campgrounds can accommodate the 25' with ease.

BTW for future reference to anyone traveling in the summer here in the western states and Canada should be aware of forest fires.

To that end here is a web site and they also have an iPhone app Fire Map, Wildfire Map, Wildland Fires Map, Wildfire Detection Maps that should be in your planning and travel info tools.

Also Oregon Smoke Information is handy to know where the smoke blows.

we have stayed at Beverly beach a couple of times in the past and would not go there again. same for my BIL, as there are often drunken parties going on into the wee hours. there is no enforcement so good luck.

a swing out to Cape Kwanda is also interesting but only private campgrounds out there. a visit to the Pelican brew put is essential and if in season, you can watch the dory fleet launch and come in to the beach. as is usually the case, in the summer months the coast is crawling with people.
