We are looking for a campground in the Austin, TX area. We were told that Bastrop State Park was really nice, but we are wondering if we can find a nice park just a little closer in to Austin.
Bastrop State Park is very nice. We live in Bastrop County but it is a 30-45 minute ride into Austin. There is a Mobile Home Park we parked our AS at for several months when we were helping our daughter with our new grandson. It is located close to the airport at the intersection of 183 and Highway71. It had lots of trees and was pretty nice and convenient. I think it is called Royal Palm or something similar.
So we ended up staying at Bastrop State Park, nice park even though there is some construction going on. Would you all have any suggestions for a campground near Corpus Christi that is kid friendly and budget friendly?
Just North of CC on I-37 is CC State Park; on Mustang Island just East of CC is Mustang Island SP (use during the week; as it gets a lot of day use during the weekend); North Padre Island National Seashore; beach camping (you will need your 4wheel drive) and I believe some type of hookups and there are a lot of private facilities in the area.
