Campground Information

As we enter the last week of 2007 (where has the year gone!), my wife and I began planning our trips of 2008 this morning. It's that time already!

Has anyone stayed at Crystal Isle RV Resort in Crystal River, FL? If so, what did you think of it? Was it well maintained, noisy from anything nearby? The photos (all three of them) looked pleasant, but I wouldn't expect them to put up bad photos.

We are considering this camp ground as a base for Memorial Day Weekend to explore the area nearby, not necessarily the beaches. Any feedback would be appreciated.

We just stayed at Rock Crusher Canyon RV park at Crystal River. Clean, and with very big sites. Cable, laundry, etc.
The area is pretty much old Florida. Withlacooche State Forest is close by. Mt Biking, hiking, ATV's and a 45 mile paved bike trail all there.

Florida mountains. Actually prehistoric sand dunes. Best example is the Lake Wales ridge. Runs up along Highway 27 to the Clermont area. This was once the edge of the ocean. Highest hill is Sugarloaf . It's north of Ferndale and provides a great view over Lake Apopka.

I just read the reviews of Crystal Isle RV Park at the suggestion of a fellow forum member and I may want to look into one of the other parks in the area. My main concern is that it be safe and HAVE sewer hook-ups so I don't have to deal with the blue tank with my back problems. I just spent 4 weeks in physical therapy and don't want to have to do it again!

Anyway, I'll have to check out this Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park. Thanks for the info, Tom.
