Campground Cocoa, FL

I'm in desperate search of a decent campground in the Cocoa, Florida Area starting feb 01.
I need a long term spot within 25mls of northern part of Merritt island, one that accept pets, where you can be a little younger than 55 and one that does not break the bank. Any suggestions ?
I looked at Christmas RV park, but at almost 900 a month, its not really an option..

any help is greatly appreciated

If you are retired military you can use the KARS recreation facility on Merritt Island. Google it and give them a call to find out there policies. Worked for us a few years ago.

Check out Land Yacht Harbor, a predominantly Airstream park in Melbourne. I believe you can be as young as 50. You can't have pets, however.

Try Brevard County Manatee Hammock campground. It is right on the Indian River and is just south of Titusville. It was a surprisingly nice campground, and was quiet while we stayed there. You will be less than 15 minutes from Cocoa if you stay there. The space center is right across the causeway, and you will be very close to playalinda beach, which is very nice. Check it out. I would go there again. The airstream park is in Melbourne, but I understand that they are not pet friendly.

Thanks for the info. The airstream park is as you guys saiid out of the question due to no pets. The park in Melbourne and the one in titusville are booked up :-) most places I checked so far are booked ...
Maybe I have to stay at an expensive place till all snowbirds are gone in April 😎

There is another county park in southern Brevard, that I think is called long point park. It is on the beach side and is on the river just north of Sebastian Inlet. It tends to be a little less known and may have something available. Keep checking to see what is available . There is another. More expensive park in ft pierce that I think is an outdoor resorts park. Keep checking. Now you know what we floridians deal with trying to find a campsite in season. My goal is to live in the state parks up north in the summer so that residents have no where to camp due to out of state residents. It can be very difficult and you need to plan 6-8 months ahead of time in order to get a site.

If you know someone who is military or government - they can get a membership (was $25/yr) - which allows them to give out ONE guest membership. I was approached by a friend who was willing to pay my annual membership for the guest pass..... just sayin'. It's a great, small and unassuming riverfront park.

Otherwise try the (already mentioned) Manatee Hammock.

Oh - there's also Jetty Park.

Check out Jetty Park. You'll get to watch the cruise ships come and go. You may even get to watch a rocket launch from Kennedy Space Center.
