Cabelas Dump station

I’m planning ahead for a trip in May and checking if Cabela’s along our route have dump station availability and found that several don’t. One person said to go into the store and they give you a $1 voucher to spend and a code to dump.

Locations with dump stations vary. Call ahead if you don’t find it on their website or AllStays. Had one location have a dump station but their flush water was turned off for the winter. Let me dump any way.

Look at full service stations like Flying J for other convenient location. These charge a fee.

RV Dumping

Found a site: RVdumping.com
Lists of places and some note the fees. Most municipalities that have a sewage treatment plan have a place for dumping, usually where Septic trucks dump.

Is your entire trip to be a boondocking one? If you are only three or four days between campgrounds, you should not need to find a dump between stops.

Cabelas Dump Station

Hi,
Don't know if your planned trip takes you in this direction but Cabelas has a great campground at their Sidney, Nebraska location. It is right off Interstate 80. We camped there one night. They have washers and dryers onsite. You can walk to the store from the campground which we did. We got caught in a typical Mid-West thunder storm while at the store and they even provided us with a shuttle ride back to the campground.
There are a few restaurants you can walk to also. We enjoyed our overnight there.

They do have a dump station there. Full hook-up sites and electric only.

Thank you. No my friend has been laying out the trip with many stops at Harvest Hosts. We have a 19’ Bambi FC and he is driving a 22’ Class C. I wanted to dump at least after the 3rd night. We have only made one trip with the AS. Expect to take a few weekenders in the spring around New England before we head out.

Flying J's and other large stations are taking out their dumps because of people missing them. Its a shame some ruin it for everyone else.

It is a shame that just a few folks spoil the use for so many. I’ve seen some crazy things at dump stations. I believe is it a combination of just not knowing and just not caring. My hope is that we will see more of a “pay it forward” approach.

There used to be free dump stations at all the rest stops in Florida but folks kept dumping all kinds of horrible stuff, including used motor oil, in them. Pretty tough on a septic system...

Needless to say they are all gone now.

I use the Allstays app to find camgrounds and other resources. They also will show dump stations.

Some of the ones at truck stops are a fairly tall pipe coming up out of the ground. We’ve found a few we absolutely cannot use because they were higher than out dump valves. We’ve never tried to use one at Cabelas, although we’ve overnighted at a few. FYI, the Cabelas in Sioux Falls SD was like a circus at 10:00 pm.
