I think the new digs have been approved by "Dusty."

Thanks for taking us along.

The moral of this? Anywhere west of the Cascades, you can't trust the weather forecasts. If anyone tells you it doesn't rain often, don't buy the Narrows bridge from them. This advice is not just based on this trip, but also on 50 years as a resident of western Washington and a degree in meteorology.

Ken, you sure have that right.

Ken, we could move there together and leave our wives in Colorado.

On 2nd thought, strike that.

Thanks for having the second thought. I was starting to get concerned.

I once asked Susan, "If I moved back to the west coast, would you follow me?"

She said, "Probably..... after a while."

I guess that's better than, "NO"

Ken, the only way I'll get to be in Oregon permanently is in an urn. At least I'd have a roof over me in the rain.

You can usually trust the forecast when it calls for rain.

Of course, the wood is free if you don't count the chainsaw, gas and oil and chains. Winterizing is a lot easier the 2nd time, but summerizing takes more time flushing the fresh water tank 3 times.

Welcome to winter. Now you need a snow shovel, down jacket, gloves, wool hat, snow tires and 4WD. I've always thought I would live in Oregon someday, but I don't think it is going to happen unless I go to nursing home there. I've been getting senior discounts for a long time, but they still want me to pay sales tax.

Have you got the Lakewood house on the market yet? Are you staying there until it sells?

Gene
Hi, Gene; Are trying to spend more of my money? The list keeps getting longer. I still haven't bought that heated water hose yet.

Hi, Poppy; So far I haven't seen any rain in Oregon. Lots of fog and mist, but not what a Californian would call rain. We had a little sprinkle while there.

New house, new tow vehicle, new adventure.

Hi, well we left Salem this morning and made it to the Durango RV Resort in Red Bluff, California. Now I have to back track to paint you-all a picture. Last December we towed our trailer to our new house in Salem, Oregon. We brought a new bed frame and a few other small items to the new house in our trailer. We took the mattress from our trailer so we would have a bed. We used camp chairs and anything else that we needed in the house from our trailer. I bought a brand new truck, but I can't tow with it until it has 1,000 miles break in for the differential. So with a one day old new truck, this adventure will be with my famous Lincoln doing the towing. Now, back to tonight. We discovered that a few simple things like scissors, Dusty's open can of food with the plastic lids on it were left at home. Looking further, remember our new house had nothing in it, well a few things needed like toothbrushes ETC that originally came out of our trailer for use in our new house are still there. Tomorrow we have to make a list of all the necessary things that we forgot in the new house, instead of putting them back in our trailer, we will have to stop at Wal-Mart and buy new stuff for our trailer. Other than that, it was smooth sailing today and we have working WIFI. Can you believe that?

Every time we go anywhere, the first question when we are a mile away from home is: "what did we forget?" On our trailer-less trip right now I'm glad Barb had conditioner and shampoo.

Where will we find you next? It is too late for Burning Man.

I sometimes on the spur of the moment when traveling ask my DW, "You know what we FORGOT"? She turns to me and says, :Oh, no, what"! I reply, "I dunno......just wondering if you know". After 45 years we still together.

Hi, this is the first time that we camped in California as foreigners. We have been to this camp ground several times and I just noticed that they have a DOG Wash.

Jackson Rancheria

Hi, today we had a relaxed drive from Red Bluff to Jackson; Once a year we go to the Jackson Rancheria Rally in Northern California. This is a nice place and we will be here for about four nights. We will be leaving here on Monday. This morning we made two trips to two different stores to buy stuff that we forgot to bring with us. I think we need to stop at one more store; For more stuff that we forgot to bring.

Hi, today we went to the Casino Buffet; The price was right, the food was good, but getting past the smoke is the bad part of a Casino. Later we made another stop at a local Wal-Mart to hopefully get all of the rest of the items that we forgot to take out of our house and return to our trailer. Tonight was "Meet and Greet" with food and drinks for everyone. There was also a raffle; People donated items to be raffled and those with a winning ticket got their choice of anything on the table. My favorite cousin paid us a visit. We had a good time seeing each other. I took a few pictures mostly at night.

Hi, today was another quite warm day, but nice out. I need to stay out of the Sun, but there are too many people and things to see and talk about. Tonight was the famous Pot Luck with a great variety of food and desserts. I only had a little bit too much. I passed on the chocolate covered bacon, but I thought long and hard about it. We had a demonstration from the Kitchen Gadget store and another from Vinnie from Vinnie's Airstream repair shop. I took a few more pictures today.

Bob, get a hat for the sun. And keep your shirt and pants on, or did you forget them too? Have you got your snowbrush? There was snow on the mountain tops yesterday when we came home from the Front Range.

Hi, Gene; I brought my large hat, but a few times I forgot to wear it instead of the baseball type hats. Shirt and pants on is not an option in public, but behind closed doors..........I temporarily misplaced my snow scraper, but I do have my snow brush with me which has a scraper built in.

No WIFI

Hi, yesterday we left Jackson Rancheria and went straight to "Vinnies Northbay Airstream Repair." It has been since before our Alaska trip that I repacked my wheel bearings and made minor repairs on my brake system. Vinnie found broken wires to my left rear brake so I was stopping with three brakes again. Last time it was the right rear that had broken wires. My brake lining wasn't bad for over ten years of proper use. Meaning that I don't abuse my brakes. I down shift my transmission down hills. My magnets were worn and it was best at this time to replace all with preloaded backing plates. After Vinnie worked his magic on my trailer we headed for Novato, where new are now, for a few days.

San Francisco

Hi, today we went to San Francisco. We had lunch at the oldest Italian Restaurant in America. One of my relatives was a part of the beginning of this restaurant. There is a book about this place and my distant relative is mentioned in this book, but her last name was misspelled; Or my family name has been spelled wrong for decades. We crossed the Golden Gate bridge twice today and found a great place to take a picture of it. I also drove down the famous Lombard Street with my Lincoln; I think I'll try it with my trailer next time. From Lombard street we had a good view o a Tall ship and Alcatraz Island. Just driving around we ran into the University of San Francisco. After Dusty went pee on their grass, I saw a sign saying No Dogs Allowed on Campus. Next stop was the Japanese Tea Garden. We walked the whole place twice, had a snack, and called it a day. We are back in our trailer in Novato RV Park. We all had dinner, Bob and Lee are on their computers, and Dusty is in his bed sleeping.
