Wonderful pictures. You are so kind to share your trips with us. BURR when I was the ice sickles on your Airstream.

I have a technical question for you. How do you make the pictures side-by-side?

Hi, I don't know why the pictures are side to side; maybe it is the photo program or the XP / Vista. The Ice sickles formed from road ice, snow, and rain in really cold weather.

Hi, the hot weather from 35 degrees and slightly upward melted all the ice off of my vehicles. My trailer is rated at 6,300 lbs and my Lincoln is rated to tow 8,900 lbs. If my set-up was maxed out, I would have crawled up the Rockies in first gear or maybe I wouldn't make it at all.
6,300 lbs is my personal max. [unless only on level ground]

Hi, I would love to stay out longer, but this was the last of our random stops before home. What else can we see between here and home? Today the temperature was in the 70's and we're cook'in.

What else can you see? Canyonlands NP, Capital Reef NP, Zion NP, Natural Bridges NM, Bryce Canyon NP, Goblin Valley SP and that's only in Utah. You can come back to Colorado and see more. Nevada has Great Basin NP with the Lehman Cave. You can take the Loneliest Road across Nevada—pick it up in Delta, Utah. There's the Navajo res to the south with national parks and trading posts. And that's just a start.

I think the photos are side to side depending what format they are in—larger ones don't fit, most do.

Head north from Arches, then west to Green River then south to Goblin Valley SP. You can daytrip into the Horse Canyon section of Canyonlands for a hike to a premier site (the Grand Gallery) for viewing pictographs.

You're having a great trip. Thanks for the report and pix.

This has been a Great posting of your adventures, Next week on Oct 23, I am planning on heading out on a road trip, until Nov. 2 when I have to be back to work, that gives me 10 days on the road. I want to stay out of the snow and Ice but I want to go west toward Moab and the 4 corners area any suggestions?

c177tx, at this time of year you can expect anything in the 4 Corners area, though in Arizona and NM snow will be more likely to melt fast, and even may farther north. You'll also find CG's are closing for the winter. There's an all year CG—Sundance—in Cortez we have stayed at. Predicting weather in the SW during the shoulder seasons is more than tricky.

If you bring a laptop with you, you can easily check weather and road conditions ahead and a weather radio in the TV helps too. Be ready to change your plans quickly and see Tucson.

We're leaving in 6 days and have to cross the Rockies in Colorado going east—I start watching the weather bureau forecasts a week ahead so we can make alternative plans. And a blizzards out on the Great Plains is no fun either, or an ice storm in the midwest.

Cedar City Utah.

Hi, this morning we left Moab / Arches National Park and made it to Cedar City Utah. I unhitched my Lincoln and we took a drive to "Cedar Breaks" another scenic place. We have been to some of the suggested places and the others will have to be some other time. Right now we have to be home in a day or two, but wish we didn't have to.

Bob, isn't it funny how once you retire, you still have to be home at a certain time?

Thanks for all the photos. It's always good to see again places we've been, or see places we hope to get to.

Before your next trip, to be properly outfitted, you'll need the Airstream snow brush (yes, there really is one—see below).

Thanks for documenting a great trip, Bob. Well, two of them.

You're making me feel a bit nervous aout our planned trip from Kingston, Ontario to The Villages, FL. Not worried about the FL part, but the northern part may be a challenge; we're leaving in two or three weeks.

Aage, at this time of year winter comes and goes fast and you have to watch the weather carefully, except of course in Canada where winter started in August, and Buffalo, where it starts now. Maybe you can ship the trailer by train. Best of luck and get that Airstream snowbrush.

Thursday.

Hi, today we left Cedar City Utah KOA. This has been one of the good KOA's that we have been to before. Last night I was having a very hard time with WIFI, only to find out that the problem was theirs not mine. I had to remove my picture sizing program because when ever my computer would crash it would display the resizer. Because of this I won't be able to post the beautiful pictures we took today at Cedar Breaks. I will how-ever post more when we get home, tomorrow. At Cedar Breaks, I asked if I could, or should, tow my trailer on the road; I was told that I can leave my trailer in the parking lot or take it with me. [other people have taken their's] So the trailer went with us and I'm glad I didn't have to un-hitch and re-hitch for this last adventure. As we passed Las Vegas, we gassed up in Primm, Nevada and had a really good prime rib dinner for only $6.99, it was much better than we expected for that price. Zero to eighty-seven is the lows and highs in temperatures on our random trip.

Hi, yes we still have to go home, recouperate and randomly decide which direction we might want to go next. I'm glad you enjoyed our trip and photos. I will be sitting at home watching for my Airstream snow brush to come in the mail.

Hi, have a great trip and we will be reading your posts. I'm glad you enjoyed mine. We made one trip, many years ago, to Disney World / Epcot Center in Orlando, Fl. and had a really great time there.

Bob,
It looks like we missed you guys by a few miles earlier this week. We left Fort Collins, CO Sunday and then spent Tuesday at Dead Horse Point State Park. The next morning we headed south through Moab and arrived home in Phoenix yesterday.
