Hi, well we made it home without the Lincoln blowing up. We got home about 2:00 PM and it is still summer here. [about 90* today] too hot for me now. Trailer and Lincoln were unloaded and need some cleaning, but I'm too tired right now. Only repair needed is to make a better pantry shelf stop than Airstream did. Once again we were in the third lane over passing all the big rigs going over the mountains. [with my gasser]

Bob,

I'm glad you made it without the Lincoln blowing up, but, alas, we won't get to meet you in person, unless the heat there is too much for you and you return to the northwest.

I see it will probably be raining when we get further north. A novelty for us and exciting for a few days, but, after, not so much.

Hi, today was a busy day with our trailer. Lots of laundry to do and return to it's place inside of the trailer. One rug is being washed now and the other one was thrown in the trash can. I went and bought a new rug to replace the one I trashed. I call them throw rugs, because when I'm done with them, I throw them away. Everything inside of our trailer was cleaned today. I spent quite a long time with the vacuum cleaner. Then there was the one item that broke while on the road. The rear stop for the slide out pantry. The pantry is mounted on a vertical cabinet board. At the back end of the pantry board is/was a poplar 1" X 2" glued and stapled to it. One time in eight years that the pantry got loose, it opened the cabinet door and knocked the rear stop board off. When I looked inside the cabinet, the sliding pantry was way back inside. I tried to pull it out, but later found that the stop board had wedged it'self in the slide tracks and was locked in place. Today, with scraps found in my garage, I was able to fix this problem.

(1.) This is my pantry with most everything removed.

(2.) This is the stupid piece of wood that is supposed to stop the pantry slide from going too far in.

(3.) In the back of the vertical cabinet divider is where the stop board was. Note: the chip in the back edge of the vertical divider.

Hi, as I said earlier, I made my fix with scraps found in my garage.

(1.) Piece of 1" aluminum angle. I used 3M automotive two sided tape. I drilled and cut three slots into it to fit around the shelf hooks. [shelf hooks are on both sides, but only used on one side]

(2.) Pantry slide with aluminum angle installed.

(3.) Foam weather strip installed to fill gap and cushion the stop.

(4.) Finished product.

Hi, this morning I checked my propane tanks; I had to refill one of them while at Jackson Rancheria in October. Since then we spent about a week in Oregon. Well one tank was still full and the other one took 4.3 gallons. After my tanks and cover were re-installed, I pulled my trailer forward to give it a bath. [still had Oregon dirt on it] Later I started putting a few things in the pantry and refrigerator. I turned on one propane tank and plugged the shore line power cord into my house's outside outlet. [120 volt 20 amp] I don't remember ever taking our trailer out in December.

Question

Robert,

Are you randomly going or is there a Christmas destination?
Not to the North Pole again are we?

Hi, I have a Daughter and three Grandsons in Phoenix, Arizona. We don't get to see them very often so I thought I might surprise them. [they don't know] We plan to leave home on Thursday and make it about a one week round trip.

Have fun! Our AS has been tucked away in the barn since the end of October.

Happy Holidays - will you be decorating your AS for the holidays where you camp?

Better warn them so they can get the livestock out of the living room and clean up the beer bottles on the floor.

Hope the inlaws do not have their SOB hooked up to the 'connections' that you expect to use. Sounds like it will be a fun time.

Hi, Gene; Clean up, I hope so. Livestock, I think they have a few rabbits for Boo-Boo to chase around. They have better be Root-Beer bottles if there are any.

Hi, Neil; There is a real nice campground close to their house. We will be there unless it's full. Today the famous Lincoln got a bath; It too still had some Oregon dirt on it. Loaded more stuff into our trailer and brought out my air compressor to top off my tires. 65 lbs on all four trailer tires, 30 lbs front and 35 lbs rear on the Lincoln, and 32 lbs front and 38 lbs rear on the BMW X-3. Well I might as well check them all while the compressor is out and running. Nothing bad, but all 12 tires were down a few lbs each.

I always believed that the kids can always drop by the parents home anytime unannounced .... But the parents should always pre-coordinate ANY visits to the kids home....
Fair, no
Safer, yes

Just my unsolicited 2 cents.

Good to give her some lead time to stuff everything that usually lies around in the closets. The only thing worse than having your parents or in-laws visit is having your house on the market and keeping it spotless for months or years so that when the realtor calls and says "I'm bringing someone by in an hour" you don't have cardiac arrest.
