Hi, now a few pictures from Salem, Oregon camp ground. Today we just settled in, went to Wal-Mart, called a local friend, and looked at a few houses.

Hi, today we did some house hunting and spent some time with the family of some old time friends from Lakewood. Sure was great to see our friends again. Shortly after returning to our trailer it started to rain and hasn't stopped yet. They told us it rains in Oregon.
I signed up for three more nights here.

Bob, Lee Lee, we are expecting snow here in the nor-Cal mountains. You may want to house hunt there for a couple more days.

today we've had rain, heavy rain, strong winds, hail, sunshine, better sunshine, off and on all morning... and it's only noon... the dog goes out..the dog comes in... the cat just sleeps thru it all.... However, I must admit, it's a great place to live... you can always go south for the winter when the rain gets to you... I've been trying to get that one across to Don for 3 years now!!! hahaha... keep having fun!!! hugs from up here... gail... Oh yeah Neil, we're going to have snow too!!!

We will be coming through there in early November. Please stop the rain, hail, heavy rain, winds and snow for a couple of weeks. Thank you.

Hi, Boo-Boo will [move to Oregon] if we do. We really like this house, but wish it was a bit smaller and have RV parking. House is brand new and has a view from the back yard. Nothing can and will be built behind this house. Boo-Boo had lunch and was sleeping in our trailer. We bought him a harness for car rides and a belly wrap for possible leakage while in the car or trailer.

Hi, so far no snow, but don't know what we will find on our way home. But don't worry about us as we now have an ice scraper and a brand new snow brush.

Looks like you could park your trailer between that house and the next one on the right. Maybe a little narrower than your driveway now, but just squeeze it in.
Keep those snow tools ready. How about winter wiper blades?

Hi, after trying to find the perfect spot for our outside thermometer, I found that it worked best when placed inside of my refrigerator. I put it outside, on my tongue. [trailer tongue, not my tongue] well it got rained on and now no longer works.

My in/out thermo seems accurate for inside but outside it reads as if we are in orbit. Subzero on sunless days and then Venus daytime temps. Boy that must mean that our old Trade Wind is WELL insulated. Just don't make 'em now like they used too.

Hi, no room for trailer; It would barely fit in front of the garage, with about 6"s over the sidewalk. HOA probably wouldn't allow it. What are winter wiper blades? Do they cut ice? In South Dakota my washer fluid froze, engine heat defrosted the wiper fluid, and when sprayed onto my windshield, it froze again. Tonight at a Fred Meyer's store, I bought some winter washer fluid. [-20 degrees] Can't buy that stuff in Lakewood.

Winter blades have a rubber cover over the part of the blade assembly that moves to allow the actual blade to conform to the curves of the windshield. This keeps ice from getting between the metal parts, freezing and not allowing the blade to bend. Then the blade misses a lot of the glass.
You need to get out more, Bob.
Since we have been looking at houses in NM as preparation for moving, we look to see if there are any RV's in a subdivision. If we see none, that's a clue that's helpful before the realtor checks in the HOA declarations and local ordinances.
Do you have an offer on your house, or just checking out the area?
We've gone through a few temp. monitors and sensors and they don't last long. We keep the sensor in the bumper compartment so we don't forget it, but it seems the sun is shining on the compartment most of the time (for some reason the rear bumper always faces south no matter where we go) and temps are way off during the day. I've got an old (10 years or more) Oregon Scientific one at home that works fine, but what I see in the stores now is cheap junk. An outside sensor should be waterproof.

Hi, we are out Gene! I can't buy winter stuff in Lakewood, we have to travel for them. Winter in Lakewood means it might rain and will get freezing cold. [in the 40's, rarely down to the 30's] Maybe I will buy some winter wiper blades too; Will they work in the summer too?
