Hi, That's not funny! I spent my whole life without a snow brush, but I did buy an ice scraper in South Dakota, then Gene told me I should have bought a snow brush. Maybe I can try it out next time we have one of those big California fires. I'll call it an ash brush.

Dusty's first camping trip.

Hi, tomorrow morning we are taking another random trip. Are we brave, gutsy, or just plain dumb? Let me first tell those of you who don't know Dusty. Dusty is an old Lhaso Apso at 13.5 years old. Dusty was a gift to my Mom in December of 1997. Dusty-Boo was Grandma's dog. In September of 2005 Grandma went to Heaven. Now dusty has become Grandpa's dog. My Dad took care of Dusty until the end of 2010 and he joined my Mom / his wife in Heaven in February of 2011. Now Dusty, Dusty-Boo, Boo-Boo is my dog. [and Lee Lee's dog] He has never been on a camping trip yet alone along car ride. This is going to be real exciting. When and where we get WIFI access we will start this adventure and try to keep everyone updated. Stay tuned to: Bob & Lee's random trip."

I know what that's like

Bob and Lee:
What I inherited was "Cujo" (real name Audrey) as my replacement Golden Retriever. All 9-1/2 pounds of her. The thing that I have come to deal with is I am always on the lookout for coyotes. They are wily and fast and I'm sure would like Cujo for dinner.

yeah, you might have to find a lift kit for the Lincoln.

I had Tru-Tracks on a couple my vehicles, and loved em. An early fiberglass Bronco I did, and then a 76 f-150 with a 460 V-8. What a dog. Only Ford product I ever owned that I would call a lemon. And I've owned a few.

Hi, this morning we left home with more stuff than we ever have taken before; Inluding a dog, named Dusty. He ws a bit agitated at first, but eventually was OK. We hit the 605 Freeway to North 5 freeway and this will most likely be our route. This was a record car ride for Dusty and now we are at our first stop/camp ground. Dusty is now trying to figuer out why we are in a much smaller house that seems like another car. Lee Lee told Dusty to get used to it, like we are homeless, for now. First tank of gas was $4.65 per gallon. the temps got up as high as 97 degrees today. When we got to our camp sight it was 95 degrees inside of our trailer and the first thing hooked up and turned on was the air conditioner. Dusty found a place on the kitchen rug to lay on for now. We are now down to 80 degrees inside. We are at Kit Fox RV Park in Patterson, Ca.

(1.) Hooked up and waiting for the street sweeper to go by so we can leave.

(2.) Dusty gets the whole back seat area. [almost]

(3.) Dusty eating his first meal in our trailer.

(4.) Dusty found a place to relax.

You wrote that 'Dusty gets the whole back seat area'. Funny how our kids didn't have that luxury. Our Lizzy gets our whole back seat too.

Day 2.

Hi, this morning we hit the road again; We left Patterson right after tanking up the Lincoln since it was only $4.13 per gallon there. It was a pretty scenic drive with a few killer mountains, but the Lincoln did well. Now I don't know whether it had to do with my freshly painted tongue, my freshly painted hitch, or the fact that I relocated my "L" brackets from 29's to 32"s. well it was of course the last and the ride was so much smoother because the spring arms have more leverage and more flexability at 32"s.

(1.) Dusty in his bed after a tireing day.

(2.) Our trusty stove top coffee maker; I think we retired the electric one.

(3.) Possible next tow vehicle?

(4.) Or should I buy this one for more traction?

Did anyone mention Shasta?

Hi, on the way we were able to stop and look at Mount Shasta. It took some hill climbing for my Lincoln, but as usual it made it. To save time I was offered to trade my Airstream and Lincoln for a jet plane, but I said "No deal". We thought maybe we should tank up the Lincoln in Shasta. The first station was next to impossible to get into and worse to get out of. Lee Lee flagged a few cars to go around us so we could back out, drive to a turn around area and look for another gas station up the road. Well this was was accessable, but with a huge obsticle. I decided to squease in and get my gas because it was now down to $3.99 per gallon. [premium] Why do I always get into a pickle?

(1.) Watch out so you don't scratch that red pole.

(2.) Hey buddy can you move that tanker? Oh wait, I might need most of what you delivered.

(3.) Lincoln and Airstream headed towards Mount Shasta.

(4.) Sorry "No deal on the Airplane trade". Dusty might get air sick.

Hi, our final stop for the day is at Glenyan RV park in Ashland, Oregon. Nice wooded area. Today's high was 99 degrees. Whatever the gas price is tomorrow, someone else will be pumping it. [State law]

Yeah, and if you want the gas topped off they won't do it. The gas filler cap and filler is positioned low on our Buick so when the automatic shut off engages I still can put in up to 2 more gallons......heck that's another 20 miles!

Hey Bob you know you are not far from the homestead. A drive up the Olympic Peninsula might be a nice break from I-5. Mike Leary is in the neighborhood also. Do you think your trailer could handle being around two Mohos?

Cheers, Dan

Bob, if you can get into any of the Oregon State Parks that have hookups, do it. They are all beautiful. Ft. Stevens near Austoria is especially nice.

Hi, we left Ashland, Oregon this morning and we are still heading North on the 5 FWY. This evening we made it to Centrailia, Washington. Dusty never left Long Beach, Ca. before he became our dog, or did we become Dusty's new owners? Now he has been to two different states. The drive was nice and uneventful, for us, but we saw quite a few vehicles with flat tires; Two that popped right in front of us. Today's high was a nice 75 degrees. Started out with clear skies and later became cloudy. [no rain] For those non-believers, believe it, some camp sights only have 50 Amp hook-ups and you better have that 50 Amp dog bone with you. [we did] We are at a nice place called Midway RV Park. Unlike last night, we can pick up WIFI from our trailer. Last night I had to bring the lap top to a table in front of the office. [they told me that I would need to] They didn't tell me that while I was getting a good signal for their WIFI, that the mosquitoes were getting a good signal from me.

(1.) Dusty likes any carpet, even if it says AIRSTREAM on it.

(2.) Sign at camp ground where we are at.

Very slow WIFI.

Hi, I will try to post two more pictures for today, if they will load.

Sorry, pictures won't load maybe later tonight when people turn off their computers?

Hi, seems like the WIFI is faster now that it is past 10:00 PM. If I could only do sound too; We might not get much sleep here tonight, it sounds like a war zone. I thought this was only the third of July, but it sounds more like some of my basic training days in the Army. There are sooo many fireworks blasting away that I can see the money burning. The first picture is our sight for the night. Looks peaceful but sure doesn't sound like it. A few hours ago a bottle rocket bounced off of the roof of my trailer. I'm going to have to take a look outside to see if the fireworks are pretty, or just for sounding like bombs. The second picture is the 50 Amp service box that I was prepared for, since I carry a 50 Amp dog bone with me.
