Bluegrass in Central Oregon...Aug 23rd

I know alot of you streamers are into blugrass music, so I thought I would post this link to the High and Dry Bluegrass Festival that a friends band is playing at in Bend, Oregon. August 23-24. This is only the 2nd year , so still small enough to be fun and jam. They have boondock camping on
sight.

Hey, 2air....
Are you still out in the west?
I haven't been to this fest before, so not much help on event sight. Just the web site photos...looks like a pasture? It is out east of town behind the Bend airport.

Tumalo is a small SP north of town, it does tend to fill up.

If you want the RV resort full deal, there is the Crown Villa RV Resort - Bend Oregon
it is just on the SE side of town , so close in to explore bend.

Sisters area has a few koa's and a city park with camping on the east side of town. On the north end there are parks and fly fishing resorts in metolious area.
Suttle Lake is a small lake with a cute little resort at one end that has good food and you can rent boats. We like to go and hang out there sometimes and eat on the dock. We would camp at the last campground on the far end......you can walk all around the lake ( max likey).

Most of the campgrounds up at the high lakes are no hook up forest service camp grounds, if you want to be in the forest at a lake. Alot are no reserve and if you go mid week, you can get a site.

This is a good local web site for exploring the area. Bend Oregon Visitor Bureau for Hotels, Lodging or Restaurants

Hope this helps.......
2air.....let us know if you make it to Central Oregon regardless if it falls on this event....pats

ok good info folks...

tumalo is booked solid (rv sites) for that time frame...

and naturally for the labor day week that follows,

after l.d. the bookings open up some.

hey pats i did spend 2 weeks in sisters not long after a33...

for mountain biking and so on.

the sis' koa is now 50$+ a nite,

the new owners must really like the place

but the big negative is it's still required DRIVING to go anywhere.

so i opted to stay right IN town, which is much much nicer.

u r right the forest service areas are plentiful and easy to use,

and very nice too!

will definitely be back in late august or mid september.

i really like the area and only have 99 more bike trails to try!

cheers
