Best vacuum cleaner on the road
After recently upgrading to a new 25FB we noticed that there are no more 12V outlets in the trailer. Everything is USB or 110V. Our B&D vacuum was running on 12V and although I could add a 12V outlet somewhere under the bed, I wonder whether there are better options than out good old 12V car vacuum?
Any experiences and thoughts? Was thinking to get a chargeable small Dyson hand held, but before pulling the trigger, I wonder about other experiences?

We don't have a 12 v. vacuum, but we got a 120 v. one from Griots (Google it online). It is light and small and powerful. This was several years ago, so I don't known whether they still sell it, but they sure have a lot of cleaning and other automotive products.

We use a Dyson hand held rechargeable, very good product. We mounted the its charging base on the wall just below the bedroom television and close to the wall on our 25 RB and keep it plugged into the 120 v outlet by the tv. Completely out of the way but convenient.

We use the small DeWalt 18 volt shop vac. It has worked very well for us and use the same battery as our drill/driver for the Hensley and the stabilizers.
We have been using it for ten years now, and have not been tempted to replace it.

I bought a vintage Kirby which is the same year as our trailer. Both are made of aluminum and the Kirby can be used to clean the carpet we have in the trailer and I can put a hose on it for inside and outside cleaning. The older models are small and light but will last forever

We bought a Bissel 3 in 1 vacuum ($18 at Walmart) that does the trick beautifully! It stores compactly in our closet, but could easily be tucked under the bed.

I have had the small portable Dyson for about 4 years now. I know the knew ones are even better. I am picky about things but this product actually is quite amazing and I would easily give it 5 stars. There is so much junk out there today in vacuumes small and large. Finally a product that will exceed your expectations.

Agree with the Black and Decker. Best hand held I've every had and we had many that didn't work well.
We have a Black and decker BDH2000L rechargeable. Small and compact works well for us.

We've tried lots, and finally settled in the smallest shop vac made (110v.) But we actually use it almost never! We sweep everyday, and wash the floor every other day with Windex and paper towels (the hall and bedroom get cleaned every time we shower, so that makes the main cabin only.) The areas are so small that we're happy to save the weight and get the storage volume back!
Now if only the collapsible brooms would last more than one season....

dyson stick if you have room or carpet. as fancy a model as you can afford ( some have more features you may or may not need, animal , HEPA, etc).
sticks have attachments to make them into handheld... WAY better than any of the 12v models I've had in past 20 years. in fact , my 5 year old plain stick is still all I use in my standard 3 BR 60's ranch home. one of those few products I absolutely couldn't live without plus co has wonderful customer service.

I have an old Sears wet & dry shop vacuum that is just the right height to use as a foot rest sort of like an ottoman with wheels. I don't know if there is still one made with a flat top like the one I've got. Being able to suck up a spill out of the carpet is very handy! Leland

Last night we bought a Shark cordless:
Shark® Products - Shark® Navigator? Freestyle - SV1106 | Official Site
It needs 120VAC to recharge, but only takes 50 watts. I have a small 150 watt inverter which I will use when we don't have shore power. It has two speeds high for carpet, low for hard floors. The brush spins all the time. We tried it out and I'm impressed with its cleaning capability. $99 at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Net with a 20% off coupon, around $80.

I found C?NET very helpful when researching a new tv.
FWIW..we have an older 120v Shark upright.

Wow, no 12 volt outlet . Aside from the vacuum issue, how are you going to run a fan or charge your lap top when not hooked up to shore power? We love our Endless Breeze fan and 12 volt laptop charger. USB is 5 volts (I believe) so it will not do for either task.
