Best place for propane refill near Bristol VA/TN

Anyone know off of the I81 corridor near Bristol of an easy on/off interstate place that will refill propane tanks? I've checked Cabelas and Bass Pro and nope, they don't.

Hoping someone here knows of a place.

TIA!

Try a campground, many of them have propane.

True...just hoping not to get too far from the interstate and just fill up before we get to our destination.

hmm....I agree and guess every question posted on here could be answered like that, but one of the reasons why I do post is because I've already googled and wanted someone towing an airstream to respond who has been that way because google doesn't know that I'm towing and looking for something easy on and off the interstate and a large parking lot to maneuver.

Hope this makes sense and I do appreciate the link. I will check it out.

Good point. One tool you (and all of us with similar questions and goals) might like is Allstays - it's an app geared toward finding campgrounds but it allows you to select features and parameters like truck stops, RV service centers, propane suppliers, etc, AND you can set parameters like bridges lower than 11' so you can see if you're going to run in to trouble getting to a location. It's not an RV GPS - those exist too - but it's one tool you might welcome in your kit to answer questions like this.

The full app is $10 and I think it's the best app on my phone (well, next to Airforums of course [emoji3]).
Good luck!

AllStays is a great app, have had it for years.

The likelihood that someone familiar with the exact area you need would be on here, see your post and be able to answer your question exactly when you need it is slim...tho it could happen.

Good to ask questions, also to be able to have some level of self sufficiency.

I've not seen a propane fill that didn't have ample room to move around, as they fill trailers and rigs of all sizes all the time.

I would avoid UHaul places, tho, unless desperate, as they are very expensive.

Good luck.

I have used the Allstays app a couple times for convenient propane fills.

Is this for your Highland Haven trip? If so, they sell propane.

No. That trip is later We will be headed further south this time. However, when we do go to Highland Haven, it will be great to stock up there!

If it's not too late to be useful, I've found that many larger U-Haul locations sell propane, and the ones I've used sell by weight rather than a flat rate for the size of tank you're having refilled. That gets you a more fair deal, assuming they have a competitive price per weight or volume.

I didn't realize Uhaul's site lets you filter their locations by whether they sell propane or not.

Most Pilot / Flying J Truck Stops have propane and if you belong to Good Sams Club you get a discount on fuel as well.

Tractor Supply Stores are also a good place. I usually just ask my GPS to find one. They will fill partial bottles and only charge for the amount of propane dispensed. I am confident they are not always convenient.

It appears as though you have several options. Good luck and safe journeys.

Propane near Bristol, Va.

Don't know where you're coming from, but there are 2 Flying J's and 2 Rv parks in the Fort Chiswell, Va. Area, exit 80. While this is 80 miles north of Bristol, they are freeway close and you may be going right by them anyway.
