Bear Lake, Ut Campground Suggestions

I am planning our 2011 trip and wanted to see if anyone had suggestions for a campground in Bear Lake Utah. We will be coming from the south side from The Cache National Forest. We love privacy and seclusion and prefer state or national forest campgrounds. Not big fans of commercial rv parks. Thanks so much.

Many years ago we spent one night at the Idaho State Park on the northeast side of the lake. It was August and not busy, but that was over 20 years ago. Check out this: Bear Lake State Park

Thanks Bill for the link. I'm going to check it out now. On a side note was Bear Lake nice? Everything I have read says it's nice but just curious to get someones opinion who has been there. Thanks again.

We've stayed at Bear Lake S.P. many times, a great site!

It was your basic campground with lake frontage. I don't remember if there were any hookups, but we would have used electric only, since we were in a pickup camper. August is the time that the raspberries are ripe, we purchased the best we have every tasted there and the freshest.

There is power and water on the lakefront. The local raspberry milkshakes are awesome!

Sunrise Campground is a beautiful spot about 5 miles west of Bear Lake at the top of the pass on Highway 89. It has amazing views of the lake and surrounding country. Reservations are a good idea during the busy summer season. And a raspberry milkshake in Garden City is a must!
