Atlanta: short term storage Feb. 2010?

I am looking for a secure place to store my 23' A/S in or around Atlanta for about five days, from about 1/31/2010 to 2/5/2010. Will be on the way to Fla., but have several days / nights of meetings downtown.

Indoor storage preferred. Happy to pay reasonable sum for this security. If anyone's got ideas, I'd appreciate the advice.

Thanks.

Hey Ryan, there's a place near us that advertises "covered" RV parking. I've only seen it from the highway driving past. I'll get the phone number for you if you want. It's about 35 miles south of downtown and a couple of miles off of I-75.

Thanks a bunch. Like I said, all aid appreciated. This is the best lead I've had so far, so sure, I'd appreciate a phone number or name of the company so Google can find 'em for me or whatever you can get!

I'll get back to you in a day or so. If y'all have any free time, you can come by the house and I'll bore the heck out of you with restoration stories. Talk to you soon.

Jim

Thanks for the offer: I'd rather be closer than an hour north if possible: if nothjing closer works out, I'll get back with you for sure.

And as to Jim's story offer, I'm not so sure. Myself, I'm afraid of those resto. stories! Might cause me to deviate from the straight and narrow and become one of "them" - the crazed, all-night, cleco and bucking bar restorers! I bought a "newer" coach, 'cause I was afraid of what the DW would say if I disappeared (once again) into a crazed vehicle project (oh, there have been boats and planes and cars and motorcycles and a lot of other stuff!) - she's a patient woman, but I think my luck might run out.

Well, maybe just a few stories!

no problem just let me know. I think I can push the GT back far enough to even get you under cover. The shape mine are in I need to be one of "them" instead most of the time I just sit here reading about "them". I know a lot of storage places trick is to find covered parking, if I find one I'll let you know, Jim's may be your best bet.
Good Luck

Ryan, here's the info:

Storage Solutions, phone is 770-898-6860.

This is one of those mini-warehouse storage what-cha-ma-call-its. Keep in mind that I'm not necessarily recommending these guys, just that they are available. I don't know anything about them, really.

Kevin and family came to visit us a month or so ago. Nice folks. He may have a better solution for you. Just watch for the chickens. Just kidding, Kev. Let us hear from you closer to the time you be around.

Jim

Ryan,

We are approximately 20-30 north of ATL and you could park in our driveway - wouldn't be covered, but we do have 30 amp service, water and dumping facilities. Not covered, though. But no problem - just let me know! Just send me a pm and we can figure out the details. The price will be right - a cold beer will do the trick.

Thanks for all the help, everyone! I'll check out this Storage Solutions and see if it can work for me (I don't want to clog up anyone's driveway, though I REALLY appreciate the offer!).

If the Storage Solutions folks don't work out, I'll definitely be back for more help. Is this a great bunch of people, or what??!!

Don't worry about blocking our driveway - "Wanda" is down at our cabin, so the driveway is open and available!

I service a lot of atl. area self storage places. There is a nice large secure one I know of BUT no cover and also about 1hr from the city. Killian Park and Store 770-345-6725. I'll keep looking for a better deal.

A cold one every 5 minutes is what he means.

You make that sound like it's a bad thing!?! The first step is to admit you need a cold beer.

Ryan - here is a place just north of Atlanta right off I-75

Atlanta RV Dealer - RV Sales - Georgia Recreational Vehicles - Three Way Campers

They were an Airstream dealer for many years and they still provide parts and service for a lot of Airstreamers on the north side of Atlanta. They have a large outside storage yard on the premises and I imagine they could help you out for a few days.

Thanks a lot ... a couple of members on here have offered similar advice, and two have offered to let me leave the trailer in their driveways for a few days. I've gotten lots of advice and offers of help. This is truly a swell community of folks who share a common interest and try to help each other out. Terrific!
