Around L.A.

Hey floks,

I have family flying into Burbank Airport and would like to connect with them. Does anyone know of any parks in the Burbank/L.A. area?

Thanks

Michael

28 miles north of Santa Monica, on highway 101 there is a nice state park:

Leo Carrillo SP

It's right across the highway from the ocean. I styed here when I cycled to L.A. and quite enjoyed my stay.

Burbank is in the San Fernando valley and there are only two parks in the valley. One in Va Nuys (Birminghan rv(rough area) and one in Northridge, Walnut RV Park.

Walnut will have you near shopping malls, Fwy access and it's in an upper middle class area.

Other than that you can head up the coast or up the I 5 into Castaic.

If I get a chance today I'll go by both parks and let you know what I find.

There's Soladad Canyon off the 14 Freeway, has two RV parks (one is operated by 1000 trails but you don't have to be a member to use it. Recently upgraded. Not too far from Magic Mountain.

Soledad Canyon - Thousand Trails

Then there's Golden Shore RV Park in Long Beach, CA. It's at the end of the 710 freeway. My Mother stayed there last summer in her 5th wheel. Clean, easy freeway access, beach etc. check it out. Queen Mary is across the way.
Welcome - Golden Shore RV Resort

Hope this helps.

Hi Michael,

I drove through the two parks in the San Fernando Valley today as I was in the area on business.

Both parks have mostly long term folks and both parks have narrow/short spaces.

The one in Van Nuys has more parking for your larger than normal truck and a nicer vibe but the other park is closer to the freeway and has more to do around it.
