AllStays Camp & RV ap for iPhone

There is a wonderful ap for the iPhone called AllStays Camp & RV. It has a great list of campgrounds which is pretty much all inclusive. Includes NPs, NFs, KOA, Independent, BLM, Corp of Engineers, Military, Wal Marts, etc. It also has listings of low clearances listed by states, truck stops, supplies, etc. Great tool for RVrs and reasonably priced. You can find it at the iTunes store.

4.99 is pretty salty for an app. Keep us posted on how you've found it to be valuable. Reviews were mixed, but aren't they all?

$4.99 is more than many of the 99 cent apps but when compared to books like the Next Exit which are much more limited in the information provided the price seems very resonable. When traveling we usually put in as much time as I can stand driving in a day before we get to our destination locations. The app is great in providing info on places to stop for overnight, getting fuel, etc. and not as cumbersome as pulling out books like TL.

That's a fine recommendation. Those Next Exit books are just a little to hard to use sometimes.

Thanks - Pat

Very Handy

I used Allstays app last summer on our big trip through Oregon down to Napa. It really is handy. I also downloaded Campwhere which gives you a quick list of campgrounds near to your current location. I am still amazed at the technology.

On our way home we decided at the last minute to cut the last day short and stay overnight on the Columbia river. Tapped the screen, tapped the phone number and made a reservation. Pretty neat.

I recommend both apps.

Aftermath, since both Allstays and Campwhere weigh in at $5, could you give us an idea which one you'd choose if you could only have one?

For ease of navigation, completeness of info, features and aesthetics... which one would you recommend (because your wife might raise an eyebrow at TWO campground location apps).

I would go with Allstays.

I seriously don't remember paying that much for the app. It has been a couple of years since I first downloaded them and I am one of those guys who sticks with the "free" options but have paid as much as 99 cents on occasion. Of course, my memory isn't so good anymore so who really knows.

For $5, I think the Allstays is a good one.

A great free app is the AAA TripTik - maps with icons for campgrounds, restaurants, rest stops and gas stations with prices, which side of the road it is on and whether or not it is rv friendly. It has "explore" and "navigate" options as well.

I also found this app and was researching it when it sent me here as one of the links for a review!! But, I found the cost to be $9.99 not the $4.99!! Is this inflation or am I looking at the wrong app? I was researching Allstays RV and camping. Thanks....Sandi

Wow, I don't know if I can justify a 10.00 app!! Is it really worth it? Can't Google do the same thing (well almost, I understand it is aimed at camping only)....and why would it double in price??how long has it been out? Should I get it now before it goes to $20??!! I know, lots of questions...

I have been using this app on my Droid for almost a year and it is a great tool. It was $4.99 when I installed it and well worth the expense. It has gone up to $9.99 as well.

I have the Allstays app on my iPad and iPhone. The $4.99 covered both devices. I've used it extensively and cannot understand why some people think that even at $10.00 it's overpriced. Sure easier to store and use than a Woodall's or Good Sam directory.

We too use both app's on our iPhone and iPad and find them very usefull. Paid $4.99 last year and got our moneys worth already.

We use it & love it. Also like the 'Oh Ranger' app. Both gave been great for our trip from GA to Utah, Colorado, New Mecico & beyond.

We have been using Allstays for the better part of two years now, and can't recommend too much.

It's the only software both of us use, when on the road.

Allstays has become our primary reference for campgrounds and related facilities. Very complete, accurate, and well-supported. I've suggested to the programmer that a feature for user-submitted campground ratings would be worthwhile, somewhat like TripAdvisor. Hopefully that will be a future enhancement.

Are there reviews in there currently? If so, who's writing them?
