Yeah, but it's fun when you do see another. Just flash your lights or wave and in a RV park you'll tend to gather in groups.

Just met a newish AS on I 90 eastbound near Pukwana SD about mm 277. We were the 92 Excella pulled by red Dodge if you saw us. We blinked our lights.
Happy Trails, friend. Nice 'stream!

Lin and I keep a record of the ones we see rolling or in camp. We don't count rallies, dealers, or storage lots. She tells me we have 202 on the list since April 2011, traveling through 36 states, 2 provinces with our wonderful Silver Otter.

Not counting Alumapalooza, we've only seen two other Airstreams on the road this summer, but we've seen five in the parks we've been in. There's been a lot of Airstreams built over the years, but we're still a minority given how many other brands there are.

During our recent 2 month road trip we saw Airstreams on the road almost every day. We saw a lot more parked at homes and RV Parks that we could see from the road. We met other owners at places we stayed at as well.
*** These numbers do not include the hundreds that were at the rallies we attended along the way.

So we arrived home in Spokane today, I will have to say that I-90 is the Airstream highway! We saw 6 today alone! Good to be home but we were sad last night was the last night in our stream for a couple of weeks.

Quiet a few dealers have disappeared, so you're starting to see pockets of Airstreams where the dealer's have remained strong. Maybe if they start expanding again it won't be so uncommon... but I know I wouldn't buy from a dealer more than a few hours away.

When you see an Airstream on the road, what do you do?
I always flash my lights and wave enthusiastically. Sometimes I am met with the same response, but more than often, the person on the other side just looks at me with a blank look. I am always puzzled by that.

Is that plus or including your two?

We just got back from a 2,400 mile trip up thru MN and around Lake Superior then down thru MI.
We didn't see any until we got to Wilderness State Park near Mackinaw, MI. There were two very small vintage ASs there.
That was it until we drove by a state park (Babler) here in Missouri near our home. (A final dump station visit.) there was a nice new AS there..
I waved to the owners in camp, it was like seeing a long lost relative. Ha!!
