Airstream Quarantine
We are planning a cross-country Airstream journey that will pass through 28 States as we are planning to drive to the Canadian Border in Montana and follow the Border to Maine, and then back to Florida.
Does anyone know if we will be denied transit access through any of these states? Obviously, we are not planning any two week quarantine periods during this trip.

Well yes. Your first barrier will be the Canadian border, which is closed. I am sitting in Montana now, waiting for it to open. And at this time, Canada is not allowing travel between provinces if you are not Canadian.
Between Florida and Montana, you should not have any issues. As a last resort, most KOAs are open for business. I've been using RVTrip Wizard which shows open and closed COVID parks. Good luck on your journey.

Thank you for this information. We have been aware of the Canadian Border situation and can fashion our journey around this issue. We are glad to hear that you did not have any transit issues getting from Tennessee to Montana.

Currently, New York state is quarantining folks for 14 days if they came from states that are hot spots: I don't have the list but it may be on their website now. We're planning a trip there to visit our eldest son, so we are watching the situation.
Good luck, and have fun!

The virus appears to be increasing exponentially in many states. If this continues there is the likelihood of much more stringent travel restrictions.

We are from Florida which is on New York's quarantine list. The rules are about as clear as mud when it comes to transiting across the state. Even though we are from Florida, we will be arriving in New York from Pennsylvania, and we will not have been in Florida for over a month.

NYS banned states
Brian,
Newly added states: California, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and Tennessee.
The original states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Utah.
The quarantine applies to any person arriving from a state with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents over a seven-day rolling average, or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a seven-day rolling average.
Brian, following the above guidelines, it appears that you are “safe” to travel from PA through NYS.
Good luck!

New York has indicated they are the only state of the 3 that will attempt to do some enforcement.. For motor vehicles, they suggest that a traffic stop of vehicle with out-of-state license plates may result in a question about arrival date and self-quarantining.. Cuomo has said Port Authority has records of every arrival, but I don't believe they record every vehicle arrival from every road leading into New York, so back to the honor system.. Quarantine may be ended again by time you get there..

Of course all the rules could -- and probably will -- be changing by the day/week/month IMO.
Hard to plan a trip going forward, or backwards IMO.
Happy trails,

Florida residents here, started travel back in March (wife is a nurse). We went up to MI for work, contract was cut early in May and we went to NY to see friends and family. Left NY and drove to yellowstone. We haven’t had any issues crossing boarders or going in an out of quarantine states.
It’s important to remember to be safe and travel smart. Wear a mask, wash hands often, don’t be doing things and posting on social media. Only time I have really heard of this stuff being enforced is when someone went to Hawaii and violated the quarantine by going to the beach and posting it all over social media.
It’s not a lock down with guns and hazmat suits like you see in movies. It’s more if you’re welcome in our state just don’t go anywhere when you arrive. Bunker down until you know you’re not sick and then carryon with life.
We have been socially distancing, wearing masks when we can’t, and just keeping to ourselves. People around us doing the same. We are in a town with more Elk then permanent residents though.

Our NY son just notified us that Minnesota has been added to the list of quarantine for NY. Bummer. Just means though that we will need to stay put for almost the entire time we're there instead of being able to leave their property.

I don't understand this. The conditions to be on the list of quarantine states are:
Greater than 10 positive per 100,000 residents - Minnesota is at 8.3
or:
Positivity rate greater than 10% - Minnesota is at 6%

You may have just discovered your son actually desires your undivided attention for two weeks - a rarity for adult children!
I just checked and these are the origin states impacted by the Northeast Region Travel Advisory per the web site. Travelers arriving into either Connecticut, New Jersey or New York from one of the states listed below are required to self-quarantine for 14 days or have been Covid tested as negative within the prior 72 hours to roam freely:
Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.

The ban on non essential US travel to Canada was just extended another month to late August, as it has been every month since March. All indications are that it will be extended again at that time, and that even if it is opened, it will be restricted (likely allowing family reunification, but still with 14 day mandatory quarantine).
Our premier was asked today what it would take for the US Canada to be reopened, and he suggested that given the trends in cases in the US it was going to be a long time.
