Signal here at RV Daza Campground is not great, but plenty adequate for my needs. I'm surprised as the tower 3/4 mile from here is huge and is an ATT tower. I will try to get a picture of it. Maybe it is used for long-distance transmission to another location.

We stopped and ate at Gus’s famous chicken. Great place and great service. Owner came by and ask why we did not finished our greens. She offered us pie to replace the uneaten greens. We said no no no, we are just full!

So that I understand this, you turned down free pie?

You might be the bravest person I’ve ever come across.

Note to self: next time I’m at Gus’s, make sure the owner is there and don’t eat my greens.

We are closing down camp as we speak. Doty and I are ready to move on to the next adventure. Catherine's landing is an RV park in Arkansas. It's on a river and has some very nice sites.

Of course, this is all near the Hot Springs national park. We are looking forward to a very old spa Quapawbaths. It was built in 1922 closed for a while and then has reopened in 2008.

So last night we ventured into town to see the sights and to get some food. We stopped at the Arlington Hotel where Al Capone (et Gangster) would stay in room 442 every time he came. It became evident that this was a favorite place for the mob to visit and the town now has a Gangster museum.

The interior of the hotel has not been touched and from one of the guests we talked to at the bar, the rooms are original also. At $140 - $200/night he said he would not have stayed. Since his room is being paid for by his company (US Government) he is still here.

I guess if you are into a bit of history like I am, I wouild not mind.

The hot springs are why the mafia, er, people come to this city. They are all lined up one after the other on one side of downtown. They close early at 6:00 pm during offseason and we only got into one that had a nice restaurant. The food was great!

We will be visiting to try the waters later today.

Hot Spring is a great little town with many many restaurants and bars to explore. Maddie will stay home today, but we will make it up to her latter.

And finally, we stopped at the HotSprings Hat company and found us some hats! Mine is the "Carlos Santana collection" and my wive's is an "Angela William". Both are period correct for this town.

The second picture is me in a Russian hat which is somewhat in my heritage. I did not go home with that hat. Notice the store owner photo bombing the shot! She was a lot of fun and helped us pick the perfect hats. She has been open for 5 months and has done quite well.

We are back from a full day at Hotsprings baths and downtown. The baths are very very nice. We got there and they told us that it was full and to wait in the cafe'. They gave us a number and then called it about a half-hour later. We checked in, got our locker keys and towels and we were off to the men and women's locker rooms.

We signed up for just the four pools. You can get full spa services there including a couples bath and massage for about $100 or even a private bath with mineral salts in your own special room. The pools are first come first serve and are the simplest way to experience the baths. It cost $20 per person for all day if you want. They have a snack bar off to the side that you can order food but no alcohol drinks while in the water. They are careful to not allow you in the hot water if you have untreated high blood pressure or a pacemaker.

We stayed for about an hour and a half. The four pools are from 98 degrees to 104 degrees. They monitor you and are quick to bring you water as you sit in the pools. It was ahhhhhhhhh, very nice and relaxing. They do not allow electronics in the pool area, but I was able to snap a shot from the side. This is a must-do when you go to Hotsprings!!

The baths were built in 1922 and feed from 26 hot springs that popped up from the ground. They were "boxed" up on the ground to protect the water quality and fed to the building. Later in 1970, they built an underground containment tank that now feeds the baths. 700,000 gallons of water is run into the baths per day. The water comes from the nearby mountains and a geological feature that forced the water down deep into the ground. It is not heated by volcanic action but by internal temperatures deep in the ground. The water when it reaches the surface is about 150 degrees. From rain in the mountains to water flowing from the springs, it takes the water over 4000 years to make the trip.

I originally thought that this was a mineral spring. It is not. As it travels through the earth, it's path is through silica rock. Essentially it flows through glass. When it arrives on the surface it has no minerals at all! So much for healing properties! It is primarily just hot water and purer then what comes from your tap at home.

One of the most famous watering holes is the Ohio Club just a few steps from the baths. This became famous as Al Capone and his men would frequent the establishment. During prohibition, the bar became the Ohio Cigar company which didn't fool anyone and was a front for the bar and casino upstairs. You can't get into the place at night it is so full. We tried again after our spa treatment and was able to snag a table near the bar.

Very unique rear bar and definitely a locals bar. They have live music 7 days a week.

You can get the BLT sandwich that proports to have 12 pieces of bacon piled high. The reviews are good but it primarily is a burger bar.

Every year there are the bathtub races. We were able to see one of the "racers" inside the bathhouse snack bar.

We arrived in Dallas yesterday. I have the trailer out front of my brothers house as we unload. We are taking it to a nearby Uhaul storage space that is basically a roof or awning over a large open space for trailers.

A new 22-year-old girl has purchased the business. My brother dealt with her. He asked her for a price which she said was $229/month. But she said there is a special going on. The first month is free! "Well, we actually only need it for 2 weeks", my brother told her. She said she bills by the month and cannot just rent for 2 weeks. My brother said that's fine we will go a full month.

She gave him a an invoice that had a balance of $0. She said the first month is free!!!!

I shut down the trailer for a short time including the hotspot. When I brought up the hotspot again, my phone would not connect to the trailer. I should say, it would connect, but is got up to 93% loading, and the Airstream app would stop. I re-paired the app with the trailer and tried again. No go. After a modem restart, I had the same problem. I gave up.

I just tried 30 minutes later and it is working. Not sure what the issue is, but it may be that the Czone network is taking longer to establish the link to the modem.

I also have noticed that the fan in the bathroom has started leaking. I replaced the gasket in the fan earlier and I know exactly why the leak started. The black cover is held down by two stainless screws that have a rubber gasket. The one closest to the outside edge of the trailer was tightened down too much by me and has stripped the hole which is actually attached to the inside handle.

When the vent is open, the screw has little force on it and it gasket on the screw settles closed, no leaks. When the vent is closed, the screw has pressure on it and pops up to let the water in. Need a bigger screw!!
