1st camp trip a success! Oh what fun!

Hi Everyone!
Our much anticipated 1st camptrip in the Tradewind was a success! Not only was it our 1st camp trip with her, it was the first as a family and the 1st time we camped in an RV! A storm blew in the 1st night and we were so thankful that we were no longer camping in a tent!
Here are a few pics from this passed weekend! (because I know you just love pics on here)! (I do too)! ; )

What a beautiful AS. I am so happy that everything worked out well your first time out, that doesn't always happen. Enjoy it, you will never regret this time with your family in the Great Outdoors.

Congratulations on you successful outing. I can hardly wait until my TT update is completed so I can use her again. Had great times last year, ready for more.

Devils Lake is great! It is our home hiking spot, have not had a chance to camp there yet. What did you think of the campsites? Where there any that had privacy and elec. hookups?

Thanks everyone for your well wishes and super nice comments! I just received a cyclo polisher to keep her shiny, so I will try it out this Mothers Day!

Boutdoors- Many campsites that are wooded and Electric in Northern Lights campground, each one is photographed, go here and check out the pics before you reserve one. One tip, camp in the spring or fall, because summers are pretty crowded (unless you like crowds).

We've only ever been during spring and fall. I cant imagine how busy it gets mid-summer. We are taking a trip up to copper falls in a month, ever been up there?

What a beautiful trailer, and a great place to camp. When we lived in the western burbs, I used to enjoy cross country skiing there. I bet it would be even better with an AS!

Woo hoo - one more Chicago 'streamer on the road! Glad you had fun, and you were smart to do a nice, reasonably short jaunt to Devil's Lake. I used to go rock climbing there during high school - it's a great park.

Been to Wyalusing. They are a tale of two parks. While the upper campground has beautiful views of the Wisconsin River valley, the sites are wide open and it is a TT parking lot.

The homestead campground near the entrance is a little more private, but I am not sure if they have hookups down there. We only ever camped there in tents.

Wonderful hiking and kayaking/Canoeing.

I still can't believe we missed you!!! Would have been so fun if 1 of us had stopped at the other camper to say hello then find we're AirForums "colleagues". It was an absolutely perfect weekend at Devil's Lake... glad you had as much fun there as we did!! Perhaps we can plan a get-together there sometime on down the road...

These are all great parks and great places. Just don't let out the secret that WI is the most beautiful state in the USA. Copper Falls in Mellon is spectacular, you got to see it. If you have a rainy day, head north to Ashland, WI on L. Superior and scope out future campgrounds to visit. We especially like Memorial Park in Washburn.

When in Wyalusing, Mulligans in Prairie du Chien has a great Friday fish fry. Across the river from Wyalusing State Park is its Iowa counterpart, Pikes Peak State Park near MacGregor. It is the highest point overlooking the Mississippi and, as a non resident, it's far cheaper than WI parks. Only $17.

We stayed in Point Beach SP just a couple of years ago in late summer. It was our second trip there. We liked it so much, we ended up buying a year long WI SP sticker and stayed there a week longer than we had planned. Make sure you go down to the beach around midnight when no one is there with, hopefully, a full moon. Take the dog (they have a dog beach!).

There's a great Sp in every part of this state, you just can't go wrong.

Hope to see you in the future,

JIM
