What kind of aluminum for 64 Streamline?

My 1964 Streamline Duke is missing a panel that I need to replace. I'm confused about all the different kinds of aluminum that I read about. What kind do I need if I want it to match as closely as possible? I don't plan to polish my trailer beyond a nice mill finish.

I believe Streamlines used anodized aluminum (some, if not all years?)...but I'm not sure. You may be able to glean some Streamline specific info here: Houston Chapter Streamline Royal Rovers. Not sure how active that website is - but Tom Patterson has a Streamline & he's always been real helpful to the vintage trailer community. You may also want to inquire with the Tin Can Tourists group...they have members with lots of great (non-Airstream) vintage trailer members as well if you don't find what you're looking for here.

Hi Warden!

I just become the honored owner of a 64 Duke too! So excited and a little overwhelmed I am just starting to gather information about history and repairs! I am happy to share anything possible with you. Do you have an owners manual or any info on where to get one?? Thanks! Linda

I read that 67 and prior are aluminum and able to be polished and that 67 after are anodized and not able to be polished.

Congratulations, Streamline64! Here's a link to a bunch of different Streamline brochures. http://www.tompatterson.com/Streamli.../Brochures.php

This is a link to an owner's manual, although it's not year or model specific. http://www.tompatterson.com/Streamli...ual/Manual.php

I found the answer to my own question about the metal used. It's .040 Alclad, although some people use .032, which seems to be more available.
