Yea, Like a vintage Airstream motorhome for a tow vehicle. Pulling all three at once. Like a little train. I would pay to see that cruising down I 70. Haha. Now you will have dueling restos, kinda like that old song, dueling banjos. Should be fun to watch. I'm sure I will learn alot. Thanks for sharing.

Here's the Curtis Wright getting "tugged" into place in the back yard - all tucked in, right next to Birdy. Things will get interesting when the Scotty gets done and out of the garage...hmmm.

Hard to imagine they were both designed by Wally Byam - and only 10 years apart!

Wow

We were at a rally this past weekend and missed this fun news! Congratulations Shari (and Mr. InsideOut!) You know it never rains, but it pours, so it only makes sense that you can't have just one... Uh oh, does that mean we are due?

Looking forward to watching your progress!

Tina

WOW! Where did you see that?!? Did you (or could you?) get the VIN number? Would love to know if this is a new sibling...or an other info you have on it. Cool!

It's parked by the side of the road in Oakland, OR (south of Eugene on I-5). I know it's been there for years. I always thought it was some strange home-built job,(my siblings all have teardrops). Only realized what it was since I've been reading up on Airstream after bringing home my childhood GT. Will see if I can get a closer look and get the serial number if I can.

Cool! That poor thing just looks like it's sinking into the ground...so sad!

Our serial (VIN #) is on a tiny little plaque just left of the door. It looks like this:

This one, #5367, really needs to be rescued before some unmentionable happens. How about you ~ Melody Ranch?? This is right up your skill set!

Update...

Actually, #5367 is not the earliest...but our#5656 is the latest. So far, I have been able to identify 13 distinctly different Model 2's that still exist:
  • #5047
  • #5061
  • #5257
  • #5286
  • #5367
  • #5407
  • #5419
  • #5496
  • our#5656
  • and four others that I don't know the VIN #'s on but from pictures are unique from these others
I agree, this latest one definitely needs rescuing!

Nah, I think we will need that to mow the grass, not shuffle trailers at my next home.

What can you guys tell me from mine. I recently purchased mine that was in a field in Oklahoma, it was last tagged in 2002. I have to chase the title down but what I payed it was worth the work I'll have in it.
