Silver Streak Clipper Cabinet a Help
I also posted this in Skins and Ribs also.
I bought this. . I am here. . New exterior skin and tons of new ribs. As from the original photo I had no cabinets to begin with. I saw this at Colin Hyde's shop. . Question I have is how were the original cabs attached. Are they attached to these horizontal ribs, see above the door frame. ? Here is what I dream of... . I can easily add horizontal ribs for both the top attachment rivets and bottom. Exterior might get rivet crazy, but a nice rivet line correctly spaced is pretty sweet looking. Any comments?

I have a 51 SS Clipper with the original interior in it. Dinette up front, rear has twin beds. You walk right into the stove when you come into the trailer. If there is something I can check in mine to help you out, let me know. I don't know what your layout is.

In 1955 they were simply riveted to the inner skin.

I would really enjoy some basic pictures of the interior. Mine came with no interior. She was abandoned and no interior is left.
I am currently rebuilding my entry door set, both inner and outer. New skins, hinges, and my current mystery, the period correct door seals. Best to have the correct seal before I wrestle with re-hanging the doors. VTS has a rivet on seal, and mine had about 9" of some aftermarket glue on foam.
Thanks for any help in advance. She has a lot of new exterior skin and her beauty is showing.

Yup, I stand corrected, the '55 also had them screwed to to interior wall/ceiling. How hi were they? Just scoot them up and down until the shelf is parallel to the floor.

Dang, Christmas came early. I have a dream for my interior and as I am now going from finishing the exterior and its needs to starting the process to get all done to start the inner skin install. Then a not anticipated inner end cap panels replacement. Mice pee is very corrosive.
I am also almost done re skinning my entry door set. I know VTS has a rivet on seal which appears to be attached between a rib and the inner skin. Is this present in this era? Also what is typical of the outer door to the body shell seal. Seems I own a now unavailable SS hinge set, which is an exact duplicate of the remains of my old hinge pieces, from VTS I get to use. Lots of New Years projects. I almost feel guilty I get to learn so many obscure skills along with purchasing so many obscure expensive tools. My latest toy. A 3" yoke for my Rivet Squeezer. Stay tuned...
