Silver streak
I am looking at buying a 1967 22' silverstreak all original. Original carpet is like new. Ugly but verr preserved. It has been parked for 25 years. The asking price is $3995.00. No dings or dents. No leaks. The floor is structurally sound and the interior is in great shape. Does this sound like it is worth it?
I know if it were an airstream I would jump on it. I don't know so much about Silverstreak trailers. Do they have similar value to enthusiasts? Need to know right away...

Cash
Is that the one they let "Johnny" stay in when he visited the prison?
I like Streaks, more than airstreams.
But 4K sounds kinda high, I think someone will pay it tho, There are those that want to preserve old neat things at all costs.

Sounds like that. But it wasn't a live in. Obvious from lack of wear.

Considering what will have to be spent to make the trailer road worthy again, I would say Klattu hit the nail on the head.

Silver Streak Photo and add
Here is the full add. Thought this would shed some more light on the subject. Any more thoughts? Vintage Camper Trailer. VERY good original condition. No dents, no leaks, no broken glass, original carpet and matresses still in VERY good condition. Has a batroom and shower and A/C. Aplliances are intact but unchecked. Tires hold air. Exterior lighing condition is unknown.
What I know it needs is propane tanks and a hot water heater thermostat. The "trunk" needs a latch and a piece of particle board replaced. Other than that the camper is presentable or could be a great candidate to totally cherry out. We recently rescued it and are offering it at this reasonable price before we invest in any of the repairs.
The camper was out of the DMV system but we have initiated the new title and are just waiting for the original Black plates to be approved to stay with the camper. Clear title and paperwork is on the way.
Come and see it for yourself.

Tons of potential = tons of money.
Will look cool fixed up...awnings, polish, AC, heaters (water and furnace), tires, tanks, water lines, curtains, uphostery, lights, in and out...and that just basics.

Sounds a little high...especially with a questionable title, unknown electrical & appliances and potential floor work (broken trunk latch + particle board = potential water leaks, floor rot & frame issues) needing to be done.
Hard to tell from one photo...proceed with caution. Check out this Price vs Condition chart for some budgetary numbers on potential repairs & appliances. Although it's primarily Airstream related...' Table C' the systems & repair costs would be appropriate for other trailer makes & models too.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do...the outside looks nice ~

Shari, the particle board is in the trunk, not the floor. The interior and floor is in great shape. This is the first time I've used this forum and was not sure I could post photos here. I have a few more. Thanks so much for the in put from every one. I will post a few more photos check the in put from here and make a decision. So far the reply has been the price is too high.

Hmmm...the 'trunk' of a Silver Streak must be different than an Airstream, I'm not sure of the differences in that regard. The trunk (when there is one) on an Airstream is attached to the frame and is usually under a bed or something so it could effect the floor & frame - maybe SS are different.
Only you can decide if the price/condition are "worth it" to you. Just be sure you go into the project with your eyes open ~ the links above can help assess the expected repair costs for a DIY'er.

The trunks are different. They actually have an exterior trunk. Kinda cool. Did the photos come through?

Yep the pics are showing now ~
You're right, the "trunk" is way different!
Looks nice ~ IF everything works AND the title is cleared, the price may not be too far out of line IMO ~ Pics help! But still plan on a couple of $$$$ for updating of the finishes & aesthetics.

Heh!
Pictures look good. klattu mentioned polishing, but I thought that the exteriors of Silver Streaks were treated in such a way (anodized?) that they cannot be polished, though I'm a complete noob and could certainly be wrong on that.
