They are padded, slightly.
The trailer is in pretty good shape. PO replaced some of the subfloor up front put on new tires, repacked bearings and fixed a few things before I bought it.

Naturally it needs some work still. I'm in the process of fixing the waste valve, replacing all marker lights, new faucets, and other things

The furnace doesn't work and the A/C hasn't been tested yet.

That won't stop us from taking it out in a few weeks though!

More pictures

I couldn't resist posting more pictures of our trailer. It is in really nice shape. I believe the only thing that's not original inside is the carpet and the toilet. The gaucho had a plastic slipcover on it and the original upholstery is perfect. The window coverings are in really good shape too. The only thing that's missing is some of the ties for the curtains.

All the photos, with the exception of the last one, are from the PO, but we haven't had the chance to get in there and clean it out and put in our own stuff. Hopefully this weekend.

The awning isn't functional. If you look in the last picture, you can see the fabric has been wrapped with duct tape. The mechanism seems to work, but we've got to figure out how to replace the fabric.

Did you want close up pics of the panels? I can take some tomorrow. They're vinyl and have a pattern on them.

And, as with the interior material choices made by the factory, they've weathered the years quite well. That looks to be a really nice, close-to-original, Silver Streak. Congratulations.

Don't forget taking the leaf springs apart and re-building them. Same for re-welding and perhaps adding a gusset or two to the spring leaf hangers, as well as new-ubolts, etc.

If the trailer did not include shock absorbers (optional on some models) then that is also a good thing to add. LED running/brake/signal lights, as well as new safety chains (new welded bracket), new 7-way, etc. Wheel inspection. All the "road performance" stuff is easy compared to much other work.

Use a certified scale and get the hitch rigging set up well. An A/S trailer does have the advantage over an S/S when it comes to suspension type (more forgiving of road problems).

The door hinges (cast metal) are a regular problem. Be certain of inner/outer door securement before heading down the highway. I pinned the inner door locks on mine (and replaced weatherstrip as well).

I do hope to find one as nice looking as yours.

I just replaced all the marker/clearance lights with tungsten units (cheaper).
Where do I get the LED replacement lights for brake and signal?

THere isn't a straight replacement that I could find. The piece is still sold new, so I figure on the half-step of using LED lamps in the housings. Some DIY could probably get things the rest of the way.

What a beauty!

I looked at a rear bedroom model of that vintage before I bought Betty but shied away due to the weight. But that was before I had the Dodge Cummins TV...sorta wish I bought it anyway.

Congratulations and I look forward to reading about your restoration.

Very nice SS! Almost a timecapsule, as it looks all stock to me.

I was lucky enough to join the recovery trip to Arizona to pick this trailer up. It really is a beauty. The inside is just imacculate and so many of the original appliances are functional - fridge (on both gas and electric), stove/oven, H2O heater, plumbing, gas lines, converter, lights. Chris and Mirissa have some work to do, but it's about as close as you can come to a time capsule ready to take camping.

Beautiful Silver Streak! I'm jealous of your beautiful wood interior. We just bought a 66 Streamline but looked at a Silver Streak too. Hope to see you on the road or at a rally someday.
