Need help on vintage airstream

I'm just beginning my quest to educating myself on vintage airstreams. I don't want to inherit a real project. I'd rather spend the money up front and get one thats ready to roll and in excellent condition. Should I look for a Globetrotter, Bambi or something else? Right now I have a Toyota Tacoma pickup 4x4 g.v.w.r.5100 and a 89 Toyota Landcruiser g.v.w.r. 5620 (both are 6 cylinders)Would either of these pull a small airstream? Any and all help would be appreciated.

Its up to you

I have had Bambi, Caravel, Safari and Overlander. Of them all I liked the Safari the best. Still small enough to maneuver anywhere but just enough extra room to be noticeably more comfortable. Get one that's done. The rebuild is time consuming (and $$$$$) Your vehicles will handle the smaller ones well. Fall is the best time to find a deal.

It may be hard to find an excellent vintage trailer. people put a lot of money in them and try to get it out of them. They aren't worth what you put into them. you put it into them to enjoy them not make money.

you can probably find one i good shape that would need very minimal work..

You might be better off to look for a good restorer and go from there.

There are a lot of badly restored Airstreams out there. And they all cost a lot of money. Unless you know who did the work, and their reputation, it's a gamble with the odds against you.

I don't know who the good restorers are but this is the place to ask. If I wanted a restored Airstream I would contact the good restorers and ask if they have any trailers for sale or if any of their customers want to sell. You would be surprised how many people want a restored Airstream then change their mind. This is actually the quickest and cheapest way to get one.
