My 1950 Spartan Royal Mansion

Hey all!

First time travel trailer owner, not first time tinkerer or car builder... but this beast.... I'm so glad to have found this forum. I'm probably going to be asking for some help as I get along with this.

My girlfriend & I (12 years this month!) purchased this ol' trailer to bring to life as our next home. Quick backstory: I've been a musician my whole life until I went back into the family business and began running (owning) restaurants. We lived in a 1700sqft home, downsized to 700sqft, downsized again to 500sqft and our next move will be down to 300sqft in this trailer.

We bought this Spartan in NJ and it was completely gutted already. This was a couple weeks ago. So far I removed the skin from the frame (all by my lonesome self... not something I'd recommend doing alone. OUCH!) and had the frame taken away to be reinforced, repaired, and coated in POR.

As you can see by the pic, it's totally gutted. We won't be restoring this to the original interior at all, but it'll be more like a super clean & modern interior.

So, just wanted to start my journey here, as well, and say thanks for the wealth of information shared so far!

Next up is putting on the belly skin which should be fun. At least we've got some nice weather here in Maine for a stretch!

Downsize the image size and they will display properly. If they are too large, they will display randomly and usually not in the orientation intended.

Today was a fun day... got to put the freshly repaired, prepped and painted frame back under the shell. Tacked it down and then the next step is grabbing a creeper and starting on the belly skin.

Alright! I've been getting our house ready for sale so have had to put the Spartan on the back burner. But now... all is done with that and my attention can get put onto the trailer.

I had a question... does anyone know what size axles I should be purchasing to replace the ones on here?

I measured them at 73" hub space and 50.5" from the center of the U bolts. But I can't seem to find anything with that U bolt spacing. Is that as important as the hub face spacing?
