Inspector for insurance appraisal needed

Hi all,
My husband and I are at the end of rebuilding our 1959 22í Falcon. We would like to insure our baby, but need a licensed/credited appraiser to write up a proper appraisal for our insurance company.
We have so far only found two companies - Polk Associates and Heintz Designs Trailer Appraisals. Both will do a remote appraisal with pictures, video and copies of receipts. Both charge $300.
We were hoping there might be someone out there charging less. Any help is appreciated. We live in NE Pennsylvania if that matters at all.

I doubt you will find a meaningful appraisal for less, that an insurance carrier will accept. Especially if you desire an agreed value policy.

Either of them will do a great job. Since you will have a value of several 10s of thousands, what is $300 in the scheme of things?

Thank you

Thank you both for your reply. I never thought of our baby being worth more than the nearly 20k that we have put into her. But I guess youíre right. At this point whatís another $300?
It is nice to know that either one will do a good job, so thanks for that as well.

Maybe Hagerty in Traverse City MI?

Good luck,

Peter

PS less than $300?

Penny wise pound foolish IMO. Protect your assets! If an accurate appraisal nets you thousands more in a possible recovery, where is the economy? False IMO.

Hagerty

Hagerty does not require an appraisal. They are gurenteed value. I have my airstreams (1947, 1956 and 1969). They offer escalating coverage for trailers under renovation and roadside assistance. You have to call them. The premium is very reasonable.

Good info

James Polk replied to my email and he would do the appraisal for $295 and it would be a 20-30 page certified USPAP compliant.
Jake at FCIS insurance quoted $274/yr, $500 deductible based on $20k agreed value. Appraisal needed (through Progressive Ins)
Tom at Hagerty Ins quoted $372/yr, $0 deductible based on $20k quaranteed value. No appraisal needed - just pictures of camper along with pictures of receipts. Just questionable if they can insure us in PA.

Ditto for Jim Polk. See my post message yesterday. He will accept pictures and most well known insurers accept his evaluation, sometimes just on his verbal quote, no written report required. He is well known in the industry.

Thanks

Thanks for that. We are definitely realizing that having a proper appraisal is necessary to make sure we have our baby valued properly for insurance purposes.
Working on an Airstream is a true labor of love, but there is also a necessity to have it valued properly for practical purposes.

Seems like Jim Polk and Progressive are the perfect pair so far. No matter the insurance company we contact, Progressive is the end result for coverage.
