How old is she?
Hi all,
I'm from quebec,canada and Im glad to be on this forum. Earlier today, I realized one of my many dreams... buying a vintage airstream for restoration. There's a lot of work to do on this beauty but I think this worth the 500$ I paid.
My question is : Is there anybody here who knows exactly which year this overlander is?

Do you have a serial number, it can be decoded.

One of your pictures shows the VIN number, but I can't read all of the digits......26(something)0(something, something, maybe 46?). That's the key to it, get the VIN off that plate. I'll go see if I find the secret-decoder-ring on the Airstream website. They move it around a lot on the website to keep us vintage owners in a state of confusion.

I also looked and think the plate says: 269046 Which would place it as made in Ohio later in the 1959 model year. Here's some info for you 1959 Overlander 26' - Vintage Airstream

on this page: 1959 Overlander 26' - Vintage Airstream
This bit: Ohio | O- 7742 to O- 7750 (early)
26 9 001 to 26 9 301 (late)
is why I think that one hard to read number is a 9. Also if you compare the shape of the 0 just to the right it doesn't look the same as the one in question.

The plate says it's an Ohio model and the numbers: 26 9046 would align with this. 26 0046 makes less sense, imo.

take a piece of paper, hold it against the numbers and lightly rub a pencil lead over the numbers. They will be clear and easily read.
