Bowles Aero

I've got some photos...somewhere. It is parked a few miles from here, my husband and I are going up there this weekend. I'll look for the reg. as soon as I can. Can you tell me a little about this kind of trailer...was it part of the air stream family?

In the book Silver Palaces by Keister, there is a Boles Aero (1965) on page 114. The models were:

19 Spunky
22 Jaunty
24 Spiffy
26 Capacious
28 Elegant
31 Capacious
35 Magnificent

The illustration shows a flat-sided aluminum trailer with rounded leading edge at the top, front and aft. It had a wide gold stripe down the side, about window high and widow wide.

Google it

I just opened Google Image Search and entered Boles Aero. There are plenty of thumbnails to verify if you're lookin' at the right trailers. Value? That will be somebody else's call ... But looking at Vintage Airstream's Price vs Condition page should begin to give you some of the issues in bringing one of these back from the brink. No doubt the value would truly depend on issues like how pristeen, stored inside, etc. Be prepared for a big job if it smells musty-dusty inside. And then many systems may truly be deteriorated or unsafe (furnace, HW heater, tires). These aren't investments you'll see any return on but could be quite pleasant for whoever has the passion.

Best of luck!

Zeppelinium, Thank-you so much for the info...Opps..I spelled the name incorrect, but you figured it out!!!!

We are in the middle of Oregon...great open country...Farms and animals...not too many people or resources for questions like this one!!!! I'll go to town tomorrow and try and find the book.

Did you know there is a Bole Aero chat member in Terrebonne? If you go to the http://www.bolesaero.com/ website you can look him up on the map.

We will be going up to the trailer this weekend. The trailer is in great shape, no leaks and has been covered for all the winters that we have had it. We live in a very rural area...going to think and research a price...get the year and all that stuff....hope to come up with a price...we have had it for about 8 years...I don't want to bug all of you great people who took the time to answer my calls for HELP!!! But, once I get all the scopp on the trailer, maybe someone could direct us to a site that would help us stamp a $$$ on the trailer....Thanks, again everyone...boy, sometime the "web" really helps!!!

If you haven't ever been to Central Oregon....it beautiful...and for you golfers...wow!!!!

Les and Patti,

Where exactly in OR are you? Central outside of Bend? I get that way in the Summer. Might be heading south from Hood River in August so I maybe I'll poke my head in and say hi if you're not that far off the beaten path.

We are in Central Oregon, about 30 miles north of Bend. If you go to the web site crookedriverranch.com you will be able to see what the ranch has to offer. A full hook-up RV Park, water, sewer, cable and power(30 and 50amp) We also have a great golf course(really low green fees), huge swimming pool, hourse back riding, hiking, fishing...if you don't want any of that, you can just sit around and enjoy the views

Thanks!

I think I saw a sign on Rt. 97 last year when headed to Crater Lake. I'll stop by when I'm in OR this summer!
