Hi everyone,
My husband and I just purchased a 1977 Travelux in surprisingly good shape. My husband has pulled it into a friend's quonset so he can work on it.
Number one job is stripping and repairing the roof and then repairing the windows. It was kept in a quonset in Alberta for decades, and then, ended up in BC in the pouring rain. That PO added 2 solar panels and put wiring through the roof. That's as far as they got and water seeped in and ran along the wires and delaminated the top of one of the cabinets and there's water seepage beneath the sides of the windows. There are some soft spots in the bathroom floor, everything else is solid.
I'd like to keep the funky upholstery (in immaculate condition), the "chandelier", mustard yellow bathtub, the Pioneer AM/FM tape deck, Skyliner TV aerial and the weird woven plastic accordion door. The cabinets will be rebuilt in a lighter wood. DH is a finishing carpenter.
It's our first RV and we'll have a ton of questions as we go along.
