We have a
1968 Overlander, that has a cast aluminum door hinge. When we bought our airstream 5 months ago, the door worked fine with the exception of having to put slightly heavy force to shut. Just a couple weeks ago we began having trouble opening the door. We found if we listened up in the knob we were able to force it open. It then became worse to were I was unable to open it and had to crawl through a window to open from the inside which still was tough. We have now removed the door in an effort to fix the hinge.
We are pretty sure the main hinge pin is bent. We have read in some placed that there is a horizontal roll pin holding it in place. However, there is no place to remove this and no evidence of a horizontal pin.
We are at a loss!! We even contacted vintage trailer supply and they are at a loss too.
Help!!
