The snow was pretty, the ice wasn't. Believe it or not, there's an Airstream sitting there beside that Argosy.

Oh, I'd probably wait until Gendisarray is back around. Until then, we can play "where am I? / where is this?" again. Here's a starter; Denver unit members can't vote!

Terry - I like choice #1 but I also don't have a picture to be judged so......

Lynn - from the weather reports we are getting this could easily be any street in Denver when the snow starts to melt...........

Happy New Year folks.

I have no picture but I like choice #1 - let the General decide. He has an eye for photography.

Perdy durn close! It's taken from the John Dunn bridge down at the bottom of the gorge near Arroyo Hondo just north of Taos. We'd taken the Enchanted Circle tour: Angel Fire, Eagle Nest, Red River, side trip north to the Wild Rivers Rec Area, back down toward Taos with side trip down to the bridge, into Taos (for lunch at Guadalajara north), and back to Angel Fire.

I certainly can't see why it wouldn't qualify. Nice photo.

That's a neat trip you had..
I fished the Rio Grande Box back in the 60's and early 70's, but I haven't been there since. It's still a great place to visit.

Yup, it's supposed to be great fishing. The most common place to view the gorge from above is from the bridge over the thing over on Highway 64 leading westward out of Taos, but I still prefer the view at Wild Rivers.

Ok, contining to bide time, here's the next you-guess'm pic, obviously a summertime shot. No restriction on guessers this time!

By the choice made by the posting forums members, the results of the photo contest will be on hold until Rodney gets a more reliable internet connection.
Good luck to the participants, and congratulations in advance to the winner.

In reference to the photo: it is lovely and reminds me of the northern end of Jackson Hole, the Teton Valley, ...or nearly everywhere we have been in the Rocky Mountain West. Whereever it is, it's beautiful! ~G

Yep, you got it. Maria went out with her camera when the wildflowers were in bloom and shot away. That particular pic is taken from the back corner of the park, where the neighbor's old fence has something left of it. (Most of the rest of the fence gets torn down by the elk all the time.)

Ok, here's my take on your shot: It's from the Alamosa area (maybe north of town?) toward the east and the great sand dunes. It's an absolutely gorgeous area!

You got it Lynn,
Of course it's a no brainer for anyone who's ever seen the National Park....
This time of year it's very quite and only one loop of the camp ground is open
with sub zerro temps you get your choice of sites....just need to have full propane tanks....

Checking in

Hey folks, sorry about the wait. The internet (cell signal) here at Padre Island is touch and go and I havent been able to find a signal that is up to viewing all the pictures entered so it will have to wait untill I get back on the mainland. For those who have considered coming out to the island but havent- you got to do it.
