September 2024 Photo Contest/Challenge

I'm surprised and thrilled to win August's challenge. Thanks, Kevin, for running the contest and selecting a great theme!

I came up with a theme for September which might be a bit of a challenge.

We all have tons of pictures of our Airstream in its natural habitat: parks, glorious nature, RV resorts, rallies, etc. But there are times where we had to park or pull over in an urban environment, somewhere where your Airstream is out of place. Often we don't think or are too stressed out to take a picture. I'm calling September's theme "Urban Airstream".

I would say the only qualification is that it's a picture somewhere that has buildings in it, but the more urban the better*. But if all you have is courtesy parking at an in-law's billion-dollar beachfront mansion, that's ok too.

As an example, I wouldn't ordinarily think to take a picture in these circumstances, but Mrs. JeffKim dropped me off on bourbon row in Louisville and circled the block while I perused Michters' visitor center. But I grabbed a few pictures when I saw her trying not to block traffic. Thanks Angel! The second picture is "find the Airstream".

*You can have a sure winner in downtown Manhattan.

Man am I glad I wasnt judging that August challenge!!! Each one was more breathtaking than the next!!!!
Congrats JeffKim! Love this theme and challenge accepted! Shes not in Manhattan, but the skyline is! This is crossing the Throgs Neck Bridge the night we brought our baby home!

This was taken at the Frank Lloyd Wright Price Tower in Bartlesville, OK during a rally there a couple of years ago. The building was completed in 1956 & so was our Safari. Sad to say, the Tower is in sore financial shape and currently closed, Sad. Hopefully it will be revitalized again someday....it's a unique treasure.

We're getting down to the wire with the September photo challenge. One week left. Thanks for the submissions!

I chose a topic that was perhaps more of a challenge than I thought, since there hasn't been a flood of entries. But there's still time to dig through those old, moldy photos on your phone or desktop and submit a gem! Or better still hook up the trailer and head downtown for a photo shoot! It's all about sharing and not necessarily winning or perfection.

Apologies again for the lateness, I decided Bearstream01's picture with Manhattan the background and towing the new baby home was the best. I particularly liked the back story - we've all been there towing home for the first time and not knowing exactly what is ahead. It captured a lot of the magic.

I look forward to October's theme and I thank everyone who submitted a picture or just stopped by to look.
