Runner's Up
Now, for the runner-ups. These two runner-up winners get special mention for capturing the spirit of this month's theme!

2. Alien Landing by Kevin Barnes (post #70)

i agree,
great choice for the winner!
and i'm certain that photo was taken BY the winner...
but one of the runner's ups isn't.
seems these contests should at least be pix taken from our cameras or stolen at a rally...
instead of the webwire...
cheers

That had to be tough...
The full moon and the after rain were both fantastic.
The effort had to be covering the Airstream with a costume...more than just a camera.
A-Merry-Can...is that a photo of MM hanging inside doorway?

Does anyone know what happened with that Airstream in picture 1?

An outstanding month for photos. I can see how difficult it gets to make the final cut with so many that should be on calendars.
Thanks to everyone for making the time to share them and to Meredith for doing the hard work this month.

I know this thread has ended as far as the photo contest goes but I was curious about the fire-threatened trailer too. This is what I found:
Here is a video of the trailer supposedly belonging to Penn. Can't vouch for the truthfulness of that rumor, but the trailer is a mess:
TMZ Embedded Video
Here is a link to an interview with Penn in 1995 where he mentions (near the bottom of the page) living in an Airstream.

Rest in peace
Wow, that is sobering. It's hard to watch. My heart goes out to everyone who was affected by these devastating fires.

Did anyone notice that the Zip-Dee awning better survived the fire than the Airstream?

Yeah...I thought that was very odd...
I guess because the awning was rolled-up there wasn't much air around it so it didn't burn. Whereas the aluminum panels had extremely hot air on all sides. They appear to have just melted.

I like to think it is the quality of the Sunbrella fabric.
Of course, it could be this long, striped, solid mass of acrylic fused around the awning bar.

Our Airstream is named Alice and was parked for a few days this Nov. in the campground at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

You guys are true 'Streamers! So laid back you missed the change of months... I'm really convinced it's November already.
