Arizona Airstream Club Roper Lake AZ rally: Sunrise over Roper Lake, Sunrise on Mt. Graham. Mount Graham doesn’t look like much but it tops out at over 10,700 ft, has a beautiful lake at 9500 ft, and is home to three telescopes (one is operated by Jesuit Priests), and the worlds largest binocular telescope.

Spring Fling Mountain Mist from VHH

Boondocking BLM land south of Dinosaur National Monument earlier this week. That was a hefty 15% grade to the top. The views were worth it but I lost some sleep sweating the decent. All went well.

So it’s 12:15 AM June 1, 2022. I really need to get to bed, but just wanted to say thank you for all your photo submissions. Mount’n Man and Nelson428 graciously agreed to assist me in selecting the “winner[emoji322][emoji122]” for the May Photo Contest so we will let you know in the next 2-3ish days. And finally, this sign posted at the head of a hiking trail at a local campground we stayed at (once)[emoji33]

Hi all!
This was a tough month to judge with all the excellent submissions. It was very helpful to have a couple other judges weighing in, so thank you Nelson and Mount’n Man! Nelson stated “ this thread is a perfect example that each post is the clear winner and does not mean that those not chosen are the losers. It does your heart good to see folks out and about enjoying life in the trouble times.” I completely agree and hope you all enjoyed posting and seeing each other’s posts.

Each of us “judges” picked different photos as favorites which goes to show how subjective the contest can be as far as the picked winner, but there was one person who had a vote for one of their photos from each of us (although a different one from each).

So the winner of the May Spring Fling photo contest is…Fjord F-150[emoji322]!, who graciously accepted and agreed to start this months contest. One of Nelson‘s top three pics was post #24 Dogs and Flowers, Mount’n Man’s was #24 Iris and Sunset, and mine was #42 Spring Fling Mountain Mist (how could I not pick a photo that used my month’s theme in it’s title[emoji23])! I really liked the depth and colors of the Mountain Mist photo.

Honorable mentions go to #10 (TruckTrailerBanff) by 27ft Toaster, #43 (Boondocking BML) by Orange Crush, #19 (Bumble Bee and Wisteria) by John Ware.

And thank you Hittenstiehl for cheering us on, your birds, and your garden photos.
