Thumbs up March 2014 Photo Contest

Having won the February 2014 photo contest (Thanks Sheridan!),
it's my privilege to pick the March 2014 photo contest theme!

"There's a Storm Coming…or Going!"

I'm influenced today by the fact that it's snowing
(well, maybe not where you are, but it is here)
and it's just beautiful!
So I was thinking about how different seasons create
gorgeous backdrops & effects on our Airstreams.

Maybe it's fierce cloud formations at sunset,
raindrops or rainbows, frost, icicles or snow…
or even the dimples from a hailstorm - obviously not a happy event,
but it could be a very artistic photo.

Let your creativity and artistic eye shine!
I love detail oriented & artistic shots…and I am the judge this month!

Click link for the "Official Rules"

The Not So "Official" Rules
1) Entries must include an Airstream or part of an Airstream
2) Entries also must include a weather event or result
3) Bonus points in my book for artistic shots…and I am the judge this month!
4) Bottomline, my favorite wins!

Happy posting!

Shari

Wish I'd seen this yesterday evening Shari. Big storm blew thru here trashing the awning on one side of us and damaging the one on our other side..both SOBs. Cheri and I got ours into storm mode before ours could be damaged. But I took no photos. We're near Parker AZ.

Thanks for the early entries! Those are some impressive clouds!

Jay/Cherie - glad you weathered the storm okay…guess there's no snow where you are now, huh?! Keep your eyes peeled, the contest runs all month!

Weather,,,,,great theme. Wish we had known that yesterday when we were loading the dismantled innards of our new to us 28 Ambassador in a California rain storm that unleashed torrents of water on us. Then 35 mph in close to zero visibility on the freeway when a driver waves furiously at as screaming your door is open.

Whenever we head out with the Bambi a neighbour always moans - and then laughs - she knows the pattern - when we go on holidays it is pretty much guaranteed to be cold, wet and windy for the entire time we are away .....

Here are a few shots:
  • Monument Valley Dust Storm (kept us in at Goldings for an extra day)
  • Dempster Highway, Yukon - over the tundra
  • Homer Spit, Alaska - Fog Bank (have used this shot before)
  • Haines, Alaska - "Sucker Hole" (at least that's what they tell me)
  • Cassiar Hwy, BC - Scary sky
  • Cassiar Hwy, BC - A little later
Thanks,

Jay

RangerJay, those are some GREAT photos! Although, are they sufficient to beat out Fly at Night's brewing storm!?!

um....a clarification is in order. I did not take the photo of the happy wedding couple "before the storm." As per the rules of this contest, it is therefore ineligible.

Was just joking around....again.

I will be posting some bona fide photos.

Carry on.
