June 2019 Photography Contest

Ok, it's that time again for another Airstream photo contest! June's theme is..... drum roll..... Airstreams around the campfire. That is one of the main rituals of camping, whether an Airstream or a pup tent. Some of the most memorable parts of our travel adventures is campfire time. That's when the stories are told, the adventures shared and we relax the most.

So send us your best photos of your Airstream around the campfire!

So a weak submittal but a start

We had Christmas outside this year and this was setting up during the day for a nice evening. Tree, fire pit, wheelbarrow full of wood and Airstream in the background. Click image for larger version

We don't do campfires but here's a view out the door at our fire ring in Yellowstone.

From last night's campfire at the Moraine View rally. Not my trailer but one of the prettier units in the ring. We'll see what tonight's campfire brings...Click image for larger version

Nice campfire and Airstream, thanks!

Love the two subtle reflections of the fire off the awning arms [?], as well as the evening sky reflected higher up.

PS -- Any chance one of the two Airstreams, reflected under the lighted window, is yours? The left one looks older IMO.

Thanks again for a great campfire photo.

Alas, no... Ours was on the fringe of the group campfire (there are 20-some AS trailers here). Just couldn't pass up the glam shot of "Cosmotini's" shiny girl in the warm glo.Click image for larger version

A campfire that is very special to me, because I bought the land it sits on as a Master's degree graduation gift to / investment for myself half a lifetime ago. I just put in a private road and parking pad for our Interstate the year before last. It took me that long - 26 years - to get to a place where I could afford to develop the property even minimally with a road and a pad. But the good news is that I don't need to build us a summer home there, because our "cottage" has wheels - that investment went into our Interstate instead, and all of its off-grid improvements. We can live out there for weeks at a time without hook-ups.

View from far above that campfire. The property overlooks ten thousand acres of wilderness set-aside that will never be developed. In the time since this drone pic was taken, we have cleared a line of sight to the lake.

OK so it's not a campfire but it is fire (kind of) and it is our Airstream (frame... being welded). I'm really eager to get things put back together and join in all the reindeer games. Hopefully before the year is out.

Our portable campfire wherever we go. Kinda cheesy however, one can still watch the flames dance...Walmart for $50.00 and the foldaway aluminum (of course) table on amazon. Great times at YellowstoneClick image for larger version

Last call for photos around the campfire

Ok, it is camping season, so you have had plenty of time to capture your airstream around the campfire. We just pulled our Bambi from Virginia to Washington state, and passed over a dozen Airstreams on the road. So the photos are out there, send them in!
