Hopefully it warms up soon and you can get back to your picturesque lakeside spot.

Nice! You probably need Alberta-grade winter wind to get that Squarestream look.

Mikebrady62: Looking forward to it indeed. Maybe another month or so...

An ice storm occurs when rain falls thru freezing air at ground level and freezes upon contact, coating everything. Ice storms can affect large areas.

Until Texas happened, the ice storm in Oregon's Willamette Valley was national news with 400,000 customers out of power. In the worst affected areas every power pole sustained some sort of damage--broken cross arms and insulators, broken poles, house service lines with transformers in the street, lines down. The ice storm started Thursday Feb 11 and ice continued to build up until early Sunday, Feb 14. A very few customers are still out of power today, Feb 28. Some rural roads remain partially blocked by down trees and debris and in many places downed trees and limbs were simply pushed off the paving into the ditches.

Keeping it warm,

Something beautiful from something so damaging. I'm sorry to hear how damaging it was.
I heard from another that some areas in northern Oregon had up to 4" of ice. I hope you were clear of that at least.

And the winner is...

The winner of February's photo contest is Labeda14 for his or her (iphone!!) image of an Airstream nestled beneath Orion. Post #17.

Many thanks to everyone who posted images. I enjoyed all of your winter pictures, and picking one winner wasn't easy.

Congratulations!
