Lunch stop in the Grand Tetons
Stopped for a bite in my tiny trailer while driving over the continental divide from Nebraska to Idaho.

Nothing could be further from the truth -- unless, of course, you are in the extreme eastern section of the province.
If one was travelling eastbound from the westcoast of B.C. to Alberta on the Trans-Canada Highway, you would encounter three main mountain ranges. The Coast Mountains are the lowest; most have trees right to the peak. The Coastal Range line the B.C. coast from Vancouver to Alaska. The mountains you see in Vancouver are part of that range, and extend inland approximately 200 miles.
The main range (before the Rockies) are the Selkirk Mountains. You can see a distinct treeline, as they are higher. This photo shows one of the mountains in the Selkirk Range. It was taken east of Revelstoke, B.C., during my 2013 trip to Alberta.
The mighty Rockies straddle the B.C. and Alberta border, and are the highest. Consequently, they are mostly granite with a very low treeline.

Great capture! Not your standard (TV/TT front and center with some mountain range in the background) photo. Nice [emoji106]

Thanks SteveNdebbie. I know many do not like a lot of "yapping" in the photo-contest thread, but I couldn't help myself. I'm afraid the non-Canadian media is notorious for calling Vancouver's Coastal Mountains "The Rockies." Me thinks they should less time in front of a teleprompter, and more time with a geography book.
The photo was taken during my trip to Alberta in 2013. Many of the forum members got a kick out of my trip report. You can find it in The Breakfast Show, pages 35 - 48.
Okay. Sorry for the yapping (again)!

Hills will count, in all fairness to those who haven't been lucky enough to make it to the mountains yet.

Since I get to pick the winner, I know I can't "enter" the contest.
But I wanted to share this pic anyways.

"The mountains become me."
I'm surprised no one has quoted Mallory's three most famous words about the mountains: "Because it's there."

Halford, have you tried photo-posting websites like Picturetrail? It's fairly easy to navigate.
