It's OK as long as you didn't get hit by the train!

Mississippi Crossing, June 2008
Travelled cross-country to Nebraska and back in June, 2008, dodging severe weather much of the time. Travel through southern Iowa and northern Missouri was particularly challenging due to bridge closures on the DesMoines and Mississippi rivers.
This photo was taken at our entrance to Illinois after the Mississippi crossing from Keokuk, IA. The access road had been built-up with crushed stone. It was surreal.

We drove through that area today. Just north of Hickory we spotted a 1983 Tradewind. Original WBCCI numbers (now removed or very badly faded) were 25876. She is sitting in a field next to PA Rt 18, as though she's for sale (no license plate, not level...), but no For Sale sign.
We also took a bike ride along the Youghiogheny River and spotted a poor old 1959 (we think) 26 footer (Overlander) just before reaching Confluence, PA. It had a For Sale sign, but when we saw the frame was bent skyward at the tongue, we rode on.
Two in one day, that's a record for us.

Didn't see that one because most of our trips were South on 18 to Washington or East on 50. We did see a old Avion for sale south of Hickory. I was tempted to stop but never did. Beautiful country out there.

Hookedonclassic,
It is a pretty part of the country. Although, not what most people think of, when they think of Pittsburgh. We didn't see the Avion, hopefully it's on the road being put to good use.
Marie caught this shot me pulling our Safari. She said, I should call it, "Whose road is it, anyway?"

I didn't think they introduced the WIDE Body Airstream until the 1990's but from the picture it looks like you got one of their early additions.

A couple from our Newfoundland Road Trip last fall:
- in front of a line of dead Tuckamore in Arches Provincial Park (Tuckamore are spruce trees that are stunted and deformed by wind and salt spray).
- what can I say .... we were a tad early to catch the ferry back to Nova Scotia from Port Aux Basque.

en route
It's en route, it's dark but it's not my Airstream. A bit of Airstream street theatre performed by the folks at Belrepayre trailer park in the South of France. It's a comedy about an Airstream en route. They pick up a French musician, suffer a mechanical failure, blow up the Airstream trying to cook and we all go to bed after a safe and happy ending!

Here we are at the side of a Michigan highway (somewhere near LaPeer?). We had just picked up our airstream the day before in Grand Rapids and our friends were towing it to Ontario for us when the fuel pump in their truck died. No worries, it was under warranty and they had CAA and we got to have the biggest dinner EVER at this farmhouse restaurant in LaPeer.

Nice looking family.
Nice looking rig too Brad, but you do have this big blemish on the rear window of your Airstream. You really ought to see about having it removed.
