August 2006 Photo Contest

Good morning, America, and all the ships at sea!

The July contest was outstanding--terrific entries and lots of them. I think July exceeded all the previous months by at least 50%. Wow! GlenCoombe's stipulation that, in order to win, the photo had to have an Airstream in the frame, got me to thinking about monthly themes. So late at night I came up with a few

View from the door
Boondocks I love
Work in progress (various stages of disassembly)
More than one (meetings of AS, extra credit for vintage next to new)
Sunsets and sunrises
Discarded avatar candidates
Around the campfire, or cooking of any sort, not to mention drinking

and, in a nod to potential fine art photographers in our midst

Nudes and Airstreams, or should that be Nude Owners and Airstreams?

which prompted the following midnight AHA!

Owners and Airstreams

So let's see some owner's emerge from behind their avatars, if just briefly. As we did last month, all entries welcomed, but in order to win the coveted 1/2 sawbuck, the photo must contain an Airstream and an Owner. To get us started, here's an old snapshot of yours truly (which definitely wouldn't be a winner, even on a baaaaadddd day)...

okay-fine, I'll play too

This also rates in the bad any day but I actually can say I have entered a photo contest. Someday I am determined to enter with decent photo.

We're in...

Peter, happy as Pig in .....after replacing the front wing window with lexan ready for our trip out East with the Parents (Trip of a Life time for them!!) last summer.

And me - the only time in my life that I actually have to do the dishes by HAND!!!! and look I am still smiling. But then it was only day 2 on that trip with the Parents. By the end of the trip.... I would not recommend traveling for two weeks in a 21' Globe Trotter with 4 adults (2- being seniors very set in their way!!!) and two big dogs oh yes did I mention that my Brother tagged along with a tent and his dog too

Considering that the Avatar is a "photo" I don't mind replying online without being accused of Hijacking .

It is made with Adobe Image Ready, Photoshop's brother. You can however make an animated gif with any animated gif program out there. And there are quite a few some even for free I believe.

Thanks!
