April 2018 Photography Contest - "Bucket List"
Thank you to Lumatic for the honor of being selected to administer the April 2018 Photography Contest.
This month's contest is centered around "Bucket List" photos - a location, trip, event or happening that you were able to cross off your "bucket list" with your Airstream. The photo must include your current, or past, Airstream and a short summary of why this is your "bucket list" photo.
Standard photography contest rules are listed below.
I will start this off -
My parents took my sisters and me across country 4 times in 5 years when we were kids, and the spot that stayed in my soul was the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. Our last trip to the Tetons was in 1974 and for decades I thought about a trip back. Finally, in August of 2017 my wife and I were able to make a two week trip from the East Coast to Grand Teton National Park and even though it was way too brief a visit, it was something that I had been looking forward to for more than 40 years.
The first photo below is a combination of a photo of me in 1972 and a photo of me in 2017; the second photo is our Airstream "bucket list" photo.
Good luck to all contestants!
------------------------------------
Photography Contest Standard Rules: "You must own the rights to any photograph submitted for the photo contest. This means that you took the photo entered in the contest. At the time you enter a photo it's only fair to the other entrants to say if you didn't take the picture but that you own the rights. Do not post protected / copyrighted content:
Information copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the member should not be posted on the discussion forums without the consent of the owner."

our whole trip last summer was a bucket list trip. But the Tetons were at the top, and probably are still there . . .

Bucket list - not many on that list, but the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta has been the primary destination and event on it since 1979. My wife and I passed through Albuquerque on our move to California. The sky was full of Balloons and we really wanted to come back and see the festival when we had time. Life got in the way, we had few vacations, but retirement finally came and last year, we made it. Very impressive event. Even had the pleasure of seeing it with my brother who made the trip to cross it off his list as well. Have posted several pictures since we got back, but this one is from our last day there and an example of what you can expect. Really put a smile on our face. Pat

Visiting every National Park in the Lower 48 is my bucket list. I checked off 3, in February while in New Mexico & Texas. Carlsbad, Big Bend, and one I had never heard of, just south of Carlsbad NP, Guadalupe NP. Only one campground between those 2 National Parks permitted for RV and trailer parking located in an awful "sardine can style" parking lot. I knew ahead of time, so tried to get there ASAP so that I might snag 1 of the few "prime" sites on the perimeter with my small 1962, 19'. I got lucky. 1 photo is a view of entire campground with my Red Nissan Xterra and AS in background (not the tandem axle AS on the right.) 2nd photo is with the mountain behind my site. Photos aren't very aesthetic. But, they are documentary.

Richard - A great bucket list item. Very nice coach as well, which really makes the event special as a memory.
That day was a great day for us too, because there was no appointment needed and no waiting. Pat

Walt - Bad news. It's a fantastic Bucket List item and you did it well. Quite cool in fact with the double pose. However, you have to do it over again. Baseball hats are not acceptable for West of the Rockies Bucket List Items. You got it right the first time with the cowboy hat. And I know you can get it all right the next time you go. Travel safe. Pat
Edit: Oops, this does not work on the 2nd. Needed to post it on the 1st. We'll get you next time. Very cool Bucket item. 40 years is a long time. Hope you do it again and again. That is a special place.

Badlands National Park
Always wanted to see the Badlands because the terrain is so different than most of the places we travel. This photo was taken last summer early in the morning while it was cool enough for a hike. Our Airstream is a 28 foot Flying Cloud. Love this area!

I checked a major bucket list item in the summer of 2016 when we finally did our first 3,000-mile trek from Houston back to my birthplace in northeastern Nova Scotia. By that time, we had gotten our solar installed, but not the lithium upgrade which was a much bigger DIY job. Nevertheless, the solar alone was sufficient to make us functional off-grid, and we did manage some spectacular overnights, including the night that we spent keeping this lighthouse company.
