Is painted ceiling original - 1959?

I have a 22 ft. 1959 Airstream, Flying Cloud. Land Yacht, International. The ceiling is painted a light yellow color. Was the ceiling painted at the factory when new and if so, is the light yellow the original color? Thanks for any info.

In 1959, it would have been Zolatone...a kind of speckled paint. Solid colored paint was not standard. If the trailer you are talking about is pre-1954, it could have been painted either a warm beige/peach/yellow or a pale green.

If it was originally Zolatone you will be able to tell by the pebbly texture even if it was painted over.

Here is a thread on Zolatone.

Look in the upper cabinets and the top of the closets. You'll be able to tell unless everything has been painted over. If so, pull off a few of the outlet covers and see what you find under them.

Thanks to all that responded to my question. I have looked at the link for the Zolatone paint and will give my ceiling a closer inspection in the hidden areas to see what I find. I feel better knowing that the original ceiling wasn't shiny aluminum and had been painted over by a previous owner. It has been repainted but it is paint over original paint. It actually looks pretty good except for some small areas of paint on the edges of the cabinets.
