So, we placed order for 16X in January, and we are picking it up July 8th. Turns out is has apparently sat at factory for a couple of weeks until 3 could be transported to the dealer (In MI).
Anyway, TV is a 2018, F150 SCREW, 3.5L ecoboost, off-road package, and tow package. Will use 16X on and off road, so at this stage not considering a anti-sway device. Also, clearly not near towing weight limit, nor hitch weight limit.
Any comments, disagreements?

I can’t imagine you’ll have any difficulty towing with that combo unless you want to transport a bed load of rocks when you tow. Good luck with it!

We towed our 20x (F150 factory tow package) for 1500 miles before installing our anderson WD. We never had issues with sway, but the WD hitch took out much of the bounce when going over rough roads or transitions. It might not help safety wise, but getting rid of the bounce made things much mellower. I'd do it again.

We pulled our 16X with a 2018 F150 5.0 with just the standard hitch and I never knew it was back there. Once we bumped up to the 20X, it bounced so I added the Anderson hitch. I would say you will be fine without any special hitch on the 16X.

Congrats on your new Basecamp! I think your tow vehicle is more than adequate for your new trailer. The Basecamp has a low overall weight and a low tongue weight, which should make towing easy.

If I were in your shoes, I would try towing without an anti-sway device first to evaluate the performance of your rig. If you have some sag in the rear of your truck or if you don’t like the stability or ride of the rig, then add a WDH with sway control. There are options available from various manufacturers that have lighter spring bars or tension, specifically designed for smaller and lighter trailers. Something like that might be an option for you if you decide that you need sway control or weight distribution. If you drive your rig out west in windy conditions, then it might make sense.
