Missing spare tire lowering crank tool

Hi all - I bought a 2017 Basecamp and realized that the spare tire crank tool is missing. Any idea where i can purchase one? So far having no luck. Wondering also if there's a McGyver way to fashion one without major fabrication.

Is it not the same as the crank tool for your stabilizers? Our past trailers used the same tool for both. It looks from Airstream’s website like that is also true for the Basecamp 16. The Basecamp 20 and other Airstream Travel Trailers don’t appear to need a crank tool.

If you are missing the crank tool, it’s a fair common part. Airstream uses the 19mm or 3/4 Hex bolt, you can get an extender and socket for a drill, or find the crank online, like here:

Thank you, I will try using the stabilizer crank again. Perhaps I wasn't patient enough and didn't jiggle it enough to get it to fit.

If it’s anything like our old trailer, it’s a bit of a pain to get it lined up and slotted onto the nut. So persistence is key.

So my stabilizer crank tool definitely does not fit because it is circular in x-section. However, a 3/4" socket does fit! So with a socket extension, I'm able to lower and raise the spare tire.

Oh interesting. I wonder if the older versions of the Basecamp used the wing-style stablizers.
