It is not the BattleBorns per se that have this characteristic -- it's a characteristic of the LiFePO4 chemistry.
The best accessible source I have found for info on LiFePO4 batteries is by someone named Rob Beckers -- "How to Find Happiness With LiFePO4 (Lithium-Ion) Batteries" on solacity.com.
You will often find these batteries delivered at half charge. I goose mine up closer to full charge before going out for a boondocking trip if I think I may park in the shade but if I will be moving during the day or otherwise have confidence about charging I don't go above about 80-90%. And when parked I try to leave at around 50-70%.
Battleborn may have secret sauce in their BMS or in the battery chemistry to avoid this problem -- maybe they never go above 90% SOC for example -- but if so you'd think they would hawk this as a market discriminator. Moreover, it's not documented anywhere that I have seen and from what people have recounted on the web it seems that their customer service / technical support folks have given varying answers to the question of whether it's good for the batteries to sit being charged at 14.2 to 14.4 volts.
