Honda Generator EU2200i

Hey All,

I bought a honda generator EU2200i companion. We will be on a long cross country and don't think we would need to use it too much, but i want to make sure we have access to AC if we are boon docking in some crazy heat.

I knew the older eu2000 wouldn't work without an easy start or running parallel but the 2200 seemed like it had enough juice for the initial start.

I just tried it out, turned the AC on low cool and there was 1-2 seconds of extra power from the generator and then it worked fine...i even turned on ECO throttle and it was fine.

Can i just assume I am good to go? There was no issues or any alarming noises. I really want to avoid installing an easy start and will no way use 2 generators.

My EU2000 worked fine without the Easy Start, but I put one in anyway.
The AC starts up much happier now.
You’re going to be fine until:
1) You get up around 5000 ft elevation. Lower power output...
2) It’s blistering hot out. I’m told the AC works harder, overloading the generator, although I have no direct experience...
3) You want to run other high watt appliances. Hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave, water heater...
So the bottom line is, you’ll be fine, until you’re not.
