I posted this in the community thread but thought I would add it here.

I got the call last week that our 2021 Basecamp 20X is on the way from the factory to the dealership. So thats all good but the salesman mentioned we got lucky again (first bit of luck was someone canceling a order they had so we got to take their spot and only waited four months for delivery) the second bit of luck the salesman referred to was the fact that the factory is now experiencing a wheel shortage and he's not sure how much of a delay that is going to cause. He mentioned that the truck my trailer is on is one of the last ones before the wheel shortage hits.

I'm not sure if the Basecamp uses different wheels then the rest of the lineup or if some other models use the same wheels. Either way the shortage may cause additional delays.

Delivery date of my BaseCamp 20X

Since I know a lot of folks are watching this thread for any scrap of delivery info, I'll add mine

I placed my order for a 20X (with all options available) on November 19, 2020. I contacted my dealer on Monday, and he had just received notification from the factory which showed our final completion date of September 21st.

I asked whether or not I needed to re-contact them in another 30 days or so to check on any date changes, and he noted that their experience was that once it hit this particular report, that it was 98% 'locked in'. (I don't interpret 'em, I just repeat 'em)

I'm sure others have had different experiences than mine, but my sales rep has shot pretty straight with me from the beginning, stating Airstream says "12-14 months delivery" .... but their actual experience has been more like 10-11 months (currently). That's with all Airstream, not just the Basecamp.

Not holding my breath here, but it's nice to hear some good news.

Basecamp 20

We ordered May 21st and our dealer says Airstream is showing our off line date the middle of December. So we are thinking January'ish for an actual delivery date.

We ordered ours at the beginning of November 2020, and picked it up this weekend (September 4th). So about 9 months, deposit to driving away with it. We love it, quirks and all!

20x with everything except the microwave. Wish I'd known to not order the factory-installed solar: Ultimate Airstreams (the licensed customization shop in the NW) can install twice as much for half the cost. D'oh.

That would be great, my 5/21/21 order is still showing Dec 20, 2021 as of last week for a Basecamp 20.

The wait continues....

We ordered Nov 27, 2020. Release date is Dec 2. Have not heard anything about the release date changing. Hoping we will be cruising back from dealer Mid-December with our BC 20X.

Update: 9/21/21 was the START date, not the completion date. However, our new BaseCamp arrived at the dealer yesterday on 10/15. I'll pick it up next week, almost 11 months to the day of the order date.

Basecamp 20 ordered 5/21/21 and my off line date got changed from 12/20/21 to 1/4/22. I was also told my price was locked in to the order date and wouldn't be effected by the recent price increases.

When you put down your deposit were you givin a VIN# of the trailer? I guarantee when you get the basecamp at the dealership it won't have the same #, it will be over 500 to 1,000 basecamps later... the last 4 digits indicates what # it was to come off the line.. I kept getting delayed over and over, I finally complained to AS sales manager directly about how others who ordered after me were taking deliveries. It was only then I got some response, and when I finally took ownership the VIN # was different, indicating that they built and delivered over 500 units before they put one aside for me. I couldn't have been more pissed off about this and have posted about it on this forum and the facebook 20x group.

Things is, some dealerships are Airstream exclusive, this is the only way they make money, so they are prioritized over other dealerships. Hate to say it but it does name sense, they just don't tell you this when you go to buy. I've read where folks who have ordered this year already have their units in hand, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

While there doesn't seem to be a set pattern to orders/deliveries, I'll add that I ordered my Basecamp 16X on July 7th, 2021 and the "standard answer" at the time was 6-months for delivery - January 2022. Based on forum posts, my expectations were much longer than 6-months, so not surprised at the update today that the new ETA is late March to early April of 2022 - which is inline with expectations. I find this thread helpful and had it not been for others sharing their experiences, I would've been somewhat disappointed this month. Gotta love the forums!

Ordered July 14, my expectations are the same with delivery. Late April or May. Forums comfort the wait.
